Devoid of any logic, the co-ordinator against violent extremism at the Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), declared that the “white power movement” is to blame for the rise in Islamist terror operations.
Anna Carlstedt, 45, went on Swedish Radio only hours after her appointment to denounce her own countrymen, the British daily Express reported. Judging from her remarks, she appears to be uniquely unqualified in dealing with terrorism and its causes.
Responding to a question about why she thought Sweden had the most jihadists per capita travelling to the Middle East to fight with the terrorist cause, she evaded the direct question and blamed native Swedes instead: “I think there are several different types of hotbeds of extremism. What we see is that there is an interaction between them. It is true that Islamic extremism is growing, but this also results from the extreme right-wing white power movement”.
Most leftists have doggedly favoured “interaction” as a powerful societal remedy, but not Carlsted. She told her listeners that “interaction” between anti-immigration groups and Islamists contributed to Muslim radicalization, but offered no explanation as to how Islam supposedly feeds of Western ideas to become so hostile: “There is an interaction between these two movements because society is becoming more and more polarised,” she said.
The present dangerous polarisation in Europe has actually been created exclusively by ideologues like Carlsted who refuse to acknowledge the reality of cultural conflict and have offered no credible responses to the growing problem except rants against those who mention the obvious difficulties with integration.
Carlsted’s spurious remarks, in blaming Swedes directly for Islamist terror – especially those who are unhappy and vocal about failed government policies – also convey an acute lack of self-awareness: “As I said earlier, we are seeing increased extremism and we see a lot of threats and hatred of elected representatives, officials and others.”
From these supposed “threats and hatred”, she drew no conclusions however.
Well before any white group “interacted” with Islamists, almost a decade ago, in 2008, a study by the very leftist University of Amsterdam revealed that 11 percent of all Muslims in the Netherlands for example, agreed that the use of violence for the sake of religion was quite acceptable.
This means that, in the Netherlands alone, there are currently 100 000 Muslims who are personally prepared to use violence, as Dutch PVV leader Geert Wilders reminded his fellow Europeans recently. The Dutch army, however, is less than 50 000 soldiers strong.
Instead of educating themselves, establishment figures such as Carlsted have opened their country’s borders to mass immigration, despite the fact that ISIS has announced that it would send terrorists to the West as “asylum seekers”.
