The American College of Pediatricians is not amused by the movement of transgendering of people at younger and younger ages.
Parents of preteens claiming their children are “transgender” are increasingly reported by news outlets.
The Canadian government may even legally remove children from families that refuse to accept their child’s chosen “gender identity” thanks to new legislation passed by the ultra-liberal Ontario province.
But now the American College of Pediatricians says the movement is a danger to kids and warns that “a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex” is dangerous and undesirable.
In their statement issued, the group of pediatricians says “a person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking”. Titled Gender Ideology Harms Children, they say the idea of transgendering is a mental, not a physical problem and “it should be treated as such”.
The College states that human sexuality is a scientifically proven physical trait. “Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: ‘XY’ and ‘XX’ are genetic markers of health — not genetic markers of a disorder,” it states quite clearly.
The professional organisation believes that there may be actual, physical disorders that could lead to gender issues, but warns that such conditions are “exceedingly rare” and as not common as pro-transgender activists currently maintain.
“The exceedingly rare disorders of sex development (DSDs), including but not limited to,” the statement says, “testicular feminization and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, are all medically identifiable deviations from the sexual binary norm, and are rightly recognized as disorders of human design. Individuals with DSDs do not constitute a third sex.”
The group essentially states that all transgender issues are mental disorders, not physical disabilities, but transgender activists try to ignore facts and research pointing to that.
According to the body of pediatricians, treatments to force children to mimic the opposite sex are dangerous in their most formative, growth-oriented years.
“Children who use puberty blockers to impersonate the opposite sex,” the College said, “will require cross-sex hormones in late adolescence. Cross-sex hormones (testosterone and estrogen) are associated with dangerous health risks including but not limited to high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke and cancer.”
Rates of suicide among adults who use cross-sex hormones and undergo sex change reassignment surgery are “twenty times greater” than the rest of the population, Breitbart reported.
The College has declared that forcing children to switch gender is an unhealthy and dangerous practice.
In Ontario however, “gender identity” and “gender expression” are included in the new legislation in “the best interests of the child,” but the religious faith of the parents raising the child has been declared of no importance.
The new Canadian law has removed right of parents “to direct the child’s education and religious upbringing” including their sexual orientation and belief system. In April of this year, a Christian couple filed a lawsuit against Hamilton Children’s Aid Society after two foster children were removed from their care because they refused tell the children that the Easter bunny was real.
