Former CIA agent’s plan to silence ‘Commander in Tweet’ going badly

Former CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson has had enough of the world's tweeting boss, president Donald Trump.

She believes that Twitter should not offer a platform for “Trump’s violence and hatred”. Wilson has therefore started a crowd-funding campaign to gain a controlling interest in Twitter and then block Trump’s Twitter account.

Since Twitter became listed on the New York stock exchange at the end of 2013, it has only been misery for the company, Twitter Inc. Listing followed its initial public offering, but it has never made a profit.

Elderly people are the only growing target group and nobody wanted to take over the company. But Trump ignited the Twittersphere with his less than 140 characters to put an automaker, the whole country and the world as well as the media in its place.

With the birth of “The buy prednisone online Commander in Tweet” (instead of the Commander in Chief), Twitter has won a lot of attention. And thanks to Trump, shareholders can now finally cash in.

But Plame has encountered a small problem, besides her project to limit freedom of expression: Her money collection is not going very well. Little after a week, the donation counter stands at only $7 000, well below her target of $1 billion.

And even if the $1 billion is achieved, it’s questionable whether donors can exercise enough power within Twitter. After all, the social media company is still worth over $12 billion.
