Damore had sent out his memo after a Google “diversity summit”, where Google managers solicited opinions from employees. When Damore however offered his opinion, he was terminated.
Damore says Google discriminated against white male employees. Some highlights in the class action suit include the following statements, revealing the bizarre and disturbing world of Google employment.
Damore’s lawsuit is filled with astounding details, such as the revelation that a Google employee who sexually identifies as a “yellow-scaled wingless dragonkin” and “an expansive ornate building” was assigned to talk at a company event.
The class members on the other hand “were ostracized, belittled, and punished for their heterodox political views, and for the added sin of their birth circumstances of being Caucasians and/or males. This is the essence of discrimination —Google formed opinions about and then treated Plaintiffs not basedon their individual merits, but rather on their membership in groups with assumed characteristics”.
“Not only was the numerical presence of women celebrated at Google solely due to their gender, but the presence of Caucasians and males was mocked with ‘boos’ during company wide weekly meetings.”
Due to his excellent work for the company, Damore was actually due for a promotion.
“Dozens of other employees joined the conversation to insult and belittle the Caucasian male, characterizing his concerns about workplace discrimination as ‘stupid goddamn devil’s advocate bullshit’. This received hundreds of upcotes from other Googlers showing their approval.”
Damore felt pressured to attend a “Diversity and Inclusion Summit” because Google the event would be an important factor in deciding promotion to leadership positions.
“In or about June 2017, Damore attended the Summit” conducted by Google at the Mountain View campus. Approximately 100 employees attended this event. Due to his excellent work performance, Damore was on the path to a leadership position at Google before his abrupt termination.
“At the end of the program, the Google presenters specifically asked employee attendees to give written feedback on the program. This prompted Damore to draft a memorandum entitled ‘Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber’.”
Google’s management team called for violence against a person if they did not hold a far-left political opinion.
“On August 3, 2017 George Sadlier, a Director at Google, sent out a mass email condemning James’ essay as ‘repulsive and intellectually dishonest’ and promising an HR investigation into Damore. Sadlier also promoted posts that advocated for physical violence against Damore.”
Google the proceede to give bonuses to people hounding Damore for his views.
“In one example of this, an employee gave a Peer Bonus to another employee, and stated that the bonus was for “speaking up for googley values and promoting [diversity and inclusion] in the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is [Damore’s Memo].”
Numerous “Corporate Antifas” not only work at Google, but openly display the paramilitary group’s symbol on their profiles.
“In fact, a large number of Googlers have set their corporate profile pictures to Antifa insignias,” Damore’s attorney said.
Google managers kept “blacklists” of employees they thought might support Donald Trump and actively promoted every kind of sexual depravity, while demonizing normal heterosexuals.
“Google furnishes a large number of internal mailing lists catering to employees with alternative lifestyles, including furries, polygamy, transgenderism, and plurality discussing sexual topics,” reads the complaint. The only lifestyle that seems to not be openly discussed on Google’s internal forums is traditional heterosexual monogamy.”
How this lawsuit is decided will have important cultural ramifications in the US.
