Fabien is part of the special force of some eighty officers who travel the metro daily dressed in plain clothes to prevent violent attacks and sexual assaults, Le Figaro reported.
According to him, the sex assaults occur mostly on the 2, 4, and 13 lines of the metro, generally in the northern part of the city where most migrants are concentrated.
He said North African suspects range from ages 12 to 86, and added: “For more than ten years that I have done this job, the suspects I have arrested are a very, very large majority from a North African origin.”
“As for the victims,” he said, “they could be teenagers or retirees. And men too, more and more.”
A survey of the Ille-de-France region where Paris is located, has revealed that 43 per cent of violent sexual incidents occur on public transit while 87 per cent of female passengers complained of having had to endure some type of sexual violence or harassment when travelling.
Officials in France have flatly denied the many problems stemming from immigration. In January 2015, Paris’s Mayor Anne Hidalgo threatened to sue Fox News after the broadcaster said there were no-go zones in the city. Hidalgo claimed at the time in an interview on CNN that “the honour of Paris” and the “image of Paris” had been harmed.
A few months ago, the EU’s Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos noted, “We cannot and will never be able to stop migration… At the end of the day, we all need to be ready to accept migration, mobility and diversity as the new norm and tailor our policies accordingly”.
Meanwhile, the investigating chamber of the Court of Appeal of Toulouse has just rejected the request of the family of Fabienne Terral-Novés, stabbed to death by the Arab mother of one of her kindergarten students, on July 4 2014 in Albi.
The Chamber considers that the new request for expertise made on behalf of the teacher’s family was not necessary and declared the Arab woman of 51 years “not responsible for her actions”. This decision was accompanied by a request for hospitalization ex officio to be formulated by the Prefect since the mother was never admitted to a mental institution after she murdered the kindergarten teacher.
The Morrocan-born mother, Rachida, reportedly has police record for child neglect.
“This is the logical epilogue of a terrible affair. The decision will not surprise anyone since four colleges, all psychiatric experts, had pronounced the mental state of this mother in full paranoid delirium during the facts,” the legal representative for the Arab mother said.
“Finally this woman will be able to be released from detention to be taken care of and looked after in a specialized unit which is more than necessary.”
