Washington news outlet The Hill has obtained a “once secret” incriminating statement and has made it public. The statement had been “prepared for a European Court”.

Hunter Biden was on the Burisma Board of Directors when then-Vice President Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in US aid to Ukraine unless Shokin was fired.

According to the New York Times, “Among those who had a stake in the outcome was Hunter Biden … who at the time was on the board of an energy company owned by a Ukrainian oligarch who had been in the sights of the fired prosecutor general.”

Joe Biden admitted during a 2018 videotaped speech that, as vice president in March 2016, he threatened to cancel US loan guarantees, in order to pressure Ukraine’s then-President Petro Poroshenko to fire Shokin. Joe Biden then bragged about getting Shokin fired. He said: “I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bitch. He got fired.”

At the time, Shokin’s office had been investigating Burisma. Shokin had been planning to question Hunter Biden about $3 million in fees that Biden and his partner had collected from Burisma.

Shokin noted in a statement that Joe Biden was filmed boasting about getting him fired by threatening to withhold $1 billion in US aid while speaking to the Council on Foreign Relations on Jan 23, 2018.

It was a brazenly corrupt move by Biden to get Shokin fired because he had been questioning the appointment of someone like Hunter Biden. Hunter has zero qualifications in the natural gas industry but was getting paid $50 000 for his services. Moreover, US Federal ethics regulations require that “all employees to recuse themselves from participating in an official matter if their impartiality would be questioned.”

Despite this, Democratic senators who themselves have encouraged Ukraine to investigate President Donald Trump, believe the President should be impeached because he has asked Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden.

Ukraine’s new president, Vladimir Zelensky, told Trump in July that he wanted to launch his own wide-ranging investigation into the Bidens and Burisma. “I’m knowledgeable about the situation,” Zelensky told Trump, asking the American president to forward evidence of their corruption.

This weekend, Biden openly lied to the media: “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.” But Hunter has admitted in an interview with the New Yorker that his father expressed concern about the Burisma deal. In fact, the New York Times published an article about how Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine undermined the vice president’s anti-corruption message.

On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, announced that Congress will initiate a formal impeachment inquiry over the Ukraine episode.

But this investigation will be far more damaging for Biden than for Trump since nonpartisan experts in ethics law will soon testify that this matter is about a major conflict of interest. Joe Biden is part of the Washington swamp where he has used his official position to enrich his drug-addicted son.
