French mayor bans Muslim food from school canteen

Last month the mayor of the French town Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur, Michel Rotger, banned halal menus from school canteens. His decision to ban “alternative menus” that don’t include pork would promote secular values in the society as well as save government money, L’Express reported.
