Trump calls for drug test ahead of third debate

Published: October 15, 2016, 9:16 pm

Republican contender Donald Trump on Saturday called for both candidates to take a drug test prior to the third US presidential debate. Trump stated that he himself was ready to take the test.

During a campaign rally Saturday in New Hampshire, the GOP presidential nominee said if athletes could be subjected to such tests, so could candidates for the American presidency.

“Athletes, they make them take a drug test, right. I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate,” Trump said to loud cheers from his audience.

“Why don’t we do that? We should take a drug test, prior, because I don’t know what’s going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate, she was all pumped up at the beginning, and at the end it was like, ‘Oh, take me down,’ ” Trump said, imitating a weak Clinton.

“She could barely reach her car.”

Questions about Clinton’s health have not gone away, despite her physician declaring that she is fit to run for office.

Footage of Hillary stumbling into a van when she fell ill at a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York, taken by a private citizen, have fueled worries that she might be hiding an illness.

Trump’s proposal will certainly ignite further speculation, especially if the Clinton campaign ignore it.
