One person has been reported injured. The IMF building suffered no damages, according to French broadcaster BFM TV.
The police have been deployed at the building. They confirmed to French daily L’Express that a parcel was received at 11h30 at the offices and exploded as it was opened.
The person who was injured is out of danger.
According to another police source, the woman who opened the parcel, was not the addressee of the package, sent to an IMF official. Police did not say who the parcel was meant for.
The explosion was light, did no damage and was not heard by all the occupants of the building.
Nevertheless the premises, located on avenue d’Iéna, in the XVIth arrondissement of Paris, were evacuated as a precaution. The judicial police are on the scene, along with forensic services.
