At least 15 known terrorists or Islamists with ties to jihadist militant groups have been arrested while trying to cross the US-Mexico border since 2001, according to a report by the Center for Immigration Studies.
The CIS report identified the cases by only using court records and open source documents, but the true number could be much higher.
According to the analysis of public records released on Tuesday, there have been at least 15 confirmed cases in which members of terrorist groups, including the Islamic State and al-Shabaab, were encountered at the border or shortly after crossing illegally since 2001.
“While President Trump may have raised the prospect of terrorist border infiltration to gain political advantage, facts would support his contention that Middle Easterners from places like Syria, Iraq, and Egypt, as well as from South Asia and the Horn of Africa, do indeed routinely travel the same routes as Hondurans to the US southern border and that some terrorist suspects have traveled among them,” the report’s author, CIS fellow Todd Bensman, said.
Because it relies only on public data, it likely undercounts the number of times jihadists, Bensman added.
A photo of a migrant woman running away from a tear gas cannister with her two young children has meanwhile gone viral with the mainstream media swiftly condemning the Trump administration for their “brutal crackdown on harmless migrant families that are only trying to escape persecution and violence by seeking asylum in the US”.
It ties in with the systematic use of globalist propaganda exploiting conveniently provided images of suffering children.
The migrants caravan incidentally passed through at least two other countries at peace on their way to the US where they did not request asylum. The media also ignored an attack on border patrol agents in Arizona.
Lastly they ignored the fact that the majority of the migrants in Tijuana waiting to cross into the US illegally are young men, not single mothers and children.
The US Department of Homeland Security believes there are some 600 convicted criminals who are traveling with the caravan.
An NBC reporter tweeted on Monday that there are more than three times as many men as there are women traveling with the caravan.
But that hasn’t stopped Democrat politicians from condemning the Trump administration for its “barbarity”.
President Trump said some of the women were not parents but are instead “grabbers” who steal children so they have a better chance of being granted asylum in the US, The Associated Press reported.
On Sunday more than a thousand migrants attempted to rush vehicle lanes at the San Ysidro crossing.
