The Baden-Württemberg state parliamentarian Carola Wolle (AfD) received one of the now notorious “house calls” by the left-wing extremist group Antifa during the night of Monday.
The perpetrators tried to invade the house of the politician. Only the existing safety glass prevented a more severe attack. In the outdoor area, the house wall was heavily smeared with paint.
“Attack the AfD” was scrawled along several meters next to the entrance of her home in red letters. Red paint was smeared on the windscreen of the private car belonging to the family.
There seems to be little doubt about the motivation of the perpetrators, since the leftist attackers proudly announced their criminal act on the left-wing forum Indymedia. They justified their perfidious and cowardly act by stating that Wolle has taken part in numerous demonstrations and allegedly represented “racist and misogynist” positions.
Wolle has in the past repeatedly commented on a wide variety of topics and events, including support of the women’s alliance in Kandel. Also, her opposition to female circumcision [FGM] has riled leftists. Earlier, they accused Wolle of the instrumentalization of female genital mutilation.
The mailbox at Wolle’s home in Schmidhausen, as can be seen posted on a Facebook page, was also painted red. The perpetrators broke the safety glass broke in the door and investigators estimate the damage at 10 000 euros.
“We thought the sounds came from the storm. It was 1.30am. Half an hour later, the police were at the door,” Carola Wolle explained. The tenant from the apartment had informed the police.
“For me, this act is incomprehensible, I am also confused and ready today. Violence is not the way – whether from the left or right,” the AfD politician added. Because of her job as a member of parliament, the investigation will continue. “We do not know if they just wanted us to be scared, or if they really tried to invade the house,” said Wolle.
The authenticity of the information contained in a letter published on the website of Indymedia, could not yet be confirmed by the police. “This will be checked, but it takes time,” says spokesman Rainer Köller from police headquarters in Heilbronn. In the letter, three reasons are given as motivation for the damage to property.
Wolle has spoken out against abortions in the state parliament. “Because I am in favor of obtaining paragraph 218 of the Criminal Code and against abortion until birth, I was attacked,” she believes.
Paragraph 218 states that a termination of pregnancy is punishable by a fine or a sentence. Another reason stated in the claimant’s note is that Wolle has used feminism for “racist agitation,” especially because she denounced not only female genital mutilation but also honor killings of women in a speech.
According to the letter, Wolle said this “only to incite against refugees”. Wolle has repeatedly denounced criminal offenses against women and girls by immigrants. “This violence is an attempt to dissuade me from my opinion,” she said.
In yet another incident, an AfD bus was attacked, and it was only due to the professionalism of a bus driver that no one was injured. Left-wing extremists launched an assault on a coach chartered by the AfD heading for Hungary.
The four-day trip to Hungary, for AfD members and friends, set off shortly after 6:00 am at Berlin’s Ostbahnhof for Budapest. On Friday, a national holiday is celebrated there. The program includes a visit to the Hungarian Parliament and city tours, and the return journey was planned for Sunday.
“The bus had just started from the East Station,” says a witness. “We had travelled maybe 600 meters, and suddenly their was a loud rumble. At first I thought it was a car accident, but then it kept popping and rumbling. “Stones and paint bags crashed against the front shield, side and rear windows of the touring coach with a deafening noise.
“Right next to me, a side window burst,” the witness told Berlin weekly Junge Freiheit. “Fortunately, because of a double glazing, the inner pane held. I took cover.”
The bus driver was able to stop the bus, and he called the police. When the officers arrived, the cowardly perpetrators ran away. “The policemen were very nice to us and very empathic,” said one woman. There were glass shards everywhere in and around the bus.
“But one thing was clear to us right away,” says the witness. “We will continue because after all, we were looking forward to the trip and had paid everything.” With three cars and a new bus, the tour team is currently heading for Hungary.
AfD Faction leader Georg Pazderski said he was horrified by the violent attack on party members in Berlin. However, he hopes that due to the circumstances, the perpetrators will quickly be identified and caught, he announced in a press release.
The coach had to be changed on Wednesday evening. “We were informed about this at short notice,” says a source. “Instead of a blue, we got a silver bus”.
On left-wing extremist pages the attack has been celebrated.
