Danish state broadcaster DR is receiving international attention for a commercial that has been heavily criticized on social media. In the film, a scientist warns Danes against having children with each other and suggests they find “exotic” partners instead.
The short film that has sparked debate shows a young Danish couple sitting on a sofa and flirting with each other. Suddenly, a so-called expert appears and explains to them that history has “introduced foreign DNA into the Danish gene pool” and that the Danes “have survived because we have nibbled on other peoples from the Middle East and West Asia.” He then likens it to inbreeding if they were to have children with each other and says that they should find partners with more “exotic” genes. The woman in the film smiles and seems curious about the idea.
The film is supposed to be an advertisement for DR’s science program Evolution, but as a number of critics point out on X, the claim is purely pseudoscientific – inbreeding is not even close to being a problem in the Danish population, and wouldn’t be even if they had thrown out every single immigrant, including Swedes and Norwegians. However, it is a problem in certain immigrant groups, especially from the Muslim world.
Many instead point out the film as completely blatant propaganda intended to reduce the birth rate among ethnic Danes or make them choose partners from the Middle East or Africa instead.

“Completely grotesque lies,” responds specialist Henrik Dietz. The fact that Willerslev, despite his acknowledged expertise, lends himself to pure pseudoscience has led many to question his judgment and point out that he himself has children with an “exotic” woman from Asia, which may have clouded his judgment. The series Evolution was first broadcast in 2020, with the same commercial that had already received criticism – but to a much lesser extent. Now the commercial is being broadcast at a time when Elon Musk allows freedom of expression on X/Twitter and often makes politically incorrect comments himself, while many Western media outlets have stepped down on the “woke” – especially in the English-speaking world where the film has received more attention than at home.
In addition to being spread on X and Facebook, it has also been picked up by several medium-sized media outlets, including the libertarian ZeroHedge and the Israeli news site JFeed. Then the criticism circled back to Denmark and was eventually picked up by Danish media as well.
“Raise your hand if you’re tired of anti-white racism,” writes a user on X in a post quoted by Berlingske. “Disgusting racism” and “completely false” read other quotes.
Critics point to the commercial as part of a broader anti-white message in European advertising and popular culture. According to a survey by Britain’s Channel 4, black people make up four percent of the population in the UK but over half of the actors in commercials. And especially when couples are depicted in commercials, ethnically mixed couples are far more common than in reality.
Both ZeroHedge and JFeed also draw comparisons to the hysterical left-wing reactions to Sydney Sweeney’s commercial this summer, which jokingly portrayed her white genes as something positive. The commercial was a huge success despite, or perhaps because of, the reactions, but the intention was of course the opposite – to silence it and preferably force retraction and retraction.
“The left cares so much about controlling the messages in commercials. They care because they believe marketing is a tool for social engineering. And they seem particularly keen to eliminate white couples, not just in the media but in real life,” ZeroHedge concluded.
The fact that the left-wing drive against Sydney Sweeney’s commercial not only failed but had the exact opposite effect, as well as the Danish anti-white commercial becoming world news, is interpreted by many as a sign that the social climate has changed and the debate has become freer so that pro-white opinions can also be expressed. Especially since Elon Musk himself has criticized anti-white racism and Donald Trump has expressed support for, among others, Sydney Sweeney.
