BBC scandal: Mainstream Media Is Fading Fast

Two of the Western establishment’s most powerful propagandists – journalists in name only – have disappeared in one fell swoop. It happened after a former adviser to the mainstream media giant denounced “serious and systematic” bias in the BBC’s news reporting in an internal memo to management, which was later leaked. The scandal is now being described as the worst crisis the BBC has ever experienced since its founding in 1922, over a century ago.

Multi-billion Dollar Damages

An avalanche of recriminations followed when US President Donald Trump’s lawyers accused the BBC on November 9 of spreading gross disinformation and therefore demanded a complete withdrawal of a misleading documentary, an apology and compensation. The BBC was given until November 14 at 10 p.m. to comply or face a $1 billion lawsuit.

Before the deadline passed, BBC Chairman Samir Shah sent a personal letter to Trump apologizing, implicitly acknowledging that the BBC had spread disinformation with the aim of damaging Trump, but the BBC is refusing to pay any compensation.

The dispute arises from the fact that the BBC, in its flagship series Panorama, entitled “Trump: A Second Chance?”, had put together excerpts from a speech that President Trump gave on January 6, 2021, with the aim of making it appear that he was inciting violent rebellion – which in fact he did not.

That day, thousands of outraged Americans protested outside Capitol Hill. However, among the demonstrators were both agents from various agencies and hired former military personnel who incited violence. The protesters were also allowed in by police so that dramatic images from inside the congressional building could be broadcast worldwide. The aim was to present Trump and his supporters as dangerous right-wing extremists and even terrorists, which would provide an alibi for the Obama-led Biden administration to crack down hard on patriots and opposition figures – which it then did, with a total of 1,300 people sentenced to prison. To achieve this, mainstream media channels such as the American CNN and the British BBC were mobilized, both of which are under the strong influence of their respective security services.

It was not only a case of gross disinformation on the part of the BBC, where the aim was to manipulate public opinion, but the fraudulent “documentary” was broadcast just days before the US presidential election on November 5, 2024. This was of course done to influence the election results, something the BBC has falsely accused, for example, Russia of repeatedly. The foreign actor involved in election influence now turned out to be the BBC instead.

Tax-financed Disinformation

The BBC, like the Swedish SVT, has a strong left-wing bias, despite being funded by taxpayers and claiming to be ideologically impartial. Think about it for a moment: the taxpayer-funded BBC documentary was broadcast in the UK – not North Korea – to make it look like the US president said something he didn’t, in order to manipulate public opinion and influence a democratic election in another country. Can you imagine how the BBC or SVT would react if they discovered that Western alternative media or Russian media had spliced together a speech by Keir Starmer or a Swedish party leader to sabotage their election campaign? The same BBC that routinely accuses people who simply have inconvenient opinions of misinformation and disinformation is now capitulating because they have been caught actively spreading precisely these lies and well-timed disinformation. And this is not just about Donald Trump – far from it.

The BBC wrote about a dozen or so climate activists from Extinction Rebellion, who were creatively filmed up close and from different angles to make it seem like there were many of them. This was repeated several times on the very days when the British were protesting against the Covid tyranny in massive demonstrations. According to a leaked memo written by Michael Prescott, an independent advisor to the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee (EGSC), this unabashed bias is also visible on many other issues. The BBC is thus deliberately trying to impose a narrow globalist and left-liberal worldview on the public. Here are just a few examples the advisor cites:

The BBC’s “LGBTQ department” harshly censors coverage of the trans debate by refusing to reproduce articles that raise “difficult questions” about the trans dogma that permeates the organization.

The BBC’s “fact-checking unit”, BBC Verify, is trying to imply that car insurance companies are “racist”, when there was a clear lack of evidence for the claim.

The BBC relies on left-wing sources such as the Trades Union Congress to suggest that racism made immigrants more likely to get “insecure jobs”, while a range of other contributing factors were completely ignored.

The BBC’s “push notification service” is completely unbalanced on immigration issues, which also happens to be the most important issue for the British as it is in many other Western countries. For example, in September 2023, the BBC sent out a total of 219 immigration-related push notifications, but only 4 of these were about illegal migrants and asylum seekers – and 3 of the 4 focused on the “bad conditions” allegedly suffered by illegal immigrants. All of these “push notifications” from the BBC completely ignored the fact that there was a simultaneous influx of migrants, including the highest number of illegal migrants ever to arrive in the UK in a single day in September 2023.

The Winds of Change

Those of us who participate in and read alternative media are of course not surprised, but it is good that a head of state is putting his foot down against globalist media and that a whistleblower within the BBC is now coming out and revealing how biased they actually are. The winds have now turned and are blowing so hard that even the flagships of mainstream media are starting to take on water and eventually capsize.
