Burps and farts from cows threaten our entire existence, if we are to believe the propagandists for ‘global warming.’ The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) wrote a report in 2021 titled ‘Methane Emissions Drive Climate Change. Here’s How to Reduce Them.’ It states that livestock, mostly cows, account for about 32 percent of human-caused methane emissions. These, in turn, make up 30 percent of the greenhouse gases that they claim drive ‘global warming.’ The solution according to UNEP, which openly collaborates (read: takes directives from) the WEF, is ‘new technology’ like Bovaer and that we humans drastically reduce our meat consumption, ‘transition to plant-based food and adopt alternative protein sources’ such as soy products, insects, and synthetic meat. On October 1, 2025, the Danish government made feeding with Bovaer mandatory for livestock farmers with herds of over 50 cows. The controversial decision means that these farms must add Bovaer to the cows’ feed for at least 80 days a year. Farmers who do not follow the rules risk significant fines. Bovaer has been developed to reduce the amount of methane that cows burp and fart as part of their natural metabolism, as it is claimed to contribute to the warming of the Earth’s climate.

Bovaer is a feed additive that contains the active ingredient 3-nitrooxypropanol (3-NOP), which inhibits a specific enzyme in the animal’s digestive system. The manufacturer DSM-Firmenich claims that it should reduce methane production (burps and farts) by 30–45 percent in dairy cows. 3-NOP is a synthetically produced organic compound that is closely related to other nitrate esters commonly used in the manufacture of explosives and propellants. Bovaer also contains propylene glycol and silicon dioxide. The manufacturer claims that the substance is completely safe, but a look at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s text on 3-NOP shows that it is directly dangerous, at least for humans: “Warning: Not intended for humans. Caution should be exercised when handling the product. 3-nitroxypropanol may impair male fertility and reproductive organs, is potentially harmful if inhaled, and causes skin and eye irritation. Personal protective equipment, including safety goggles, protective mask, and protective gloves, should be used when handling the product.” Screenshot: BBC
There are about 2,000 dairy farmers in Denmark, of which around 1,400 are believed to have started feeding Bovaer since October 1. It wasn’t even a month before alarms from upset farmers started pouring in. Dairy farmers report that cows they have been forced to give Bovaer have suffered from everything from fever and diarrhea to sores and inflammations, and that cows in several cases have also collapsed and died. Many also report that fertility has been affected. That this is happening after just a few weeks of using the controversial climate feed additive Bovaer is considered by several observers to be both remarkable and alarming. What happens to the cows in the long term, and what does it mean for people who drink the milk?
Rejection Despite Threat of Fines

Anders Ring is a Danish dairy farmer who decided to stop using Bovaer after feeding his cows with it and already after a month seeing a dramatic decrease in the herd’s general health and milk production. “Since we stopped giving it, our cows’ health has improved significantly. Already two days after we stopped giving Bovaer, their cell count (SCC) decreased by more than 20 percent,” he says. Photo: Private via Farmers Guardian
One of the Danish dairy farmers who has raised the alarm is Anders Ring, who has 600 cows near the small town of Gredstedbro in southern Denmark. He was recently interviewed by the British weekly magazine Farmers Guardian, which quoted him in an article from November 10. Ring tells the trade magazine that several health problems appeared fairly soon in his herd when he started adding Bovaer to the cows’ feed. Milk production also decreased markedly, so already in the first month he stopped using the “climate additive” despite the risk of being fined. Ring further explains how he quickly noticed a clear improvement in the cows’ health as soon as he removed Bovaer from their feed. He does not mince words: “In my opinion, Bovaer is a poison. Since we started feeding Bovaer, we have had an explosion of digital dermatitis, and many cows [have shown signs of] poor reproduction.”
Digital dermatitis (DD) is a disease characterized by painful and infectious sores in the pastern (lowest part of the leg), coronary band (part of the hoof), and interdigital cleft (between the hooves) in cattle. He further explains that automated monitoring systems connected to the milking equipment started raising alarms shortly after Bovaer was introduced into the feed.
“I noticed that my computer system started flagging and running health checks on many more cows than normal, and the cows have also had much higher somatic cell counts than usual. Somatic cell count (SCC) is a measure of the number of white blood cells in a milk sample. It is used to identify udder inflammation in cows and is commonly used in agriculture to assess animal health. Udder inflammation is one of the biggest problems for dairy farmers, as it completely knocks out milk production in the short term and long-term reduces the dairy cow’s lifespan.

Udder health is absolutely crucial for the cows’ well-being, milk production, and thus the farmers’ profitability. Mastitis or udder inflammation and high cell counts are completely devastating. In the short term, milk production is absent for 12 days due to antibiotic treatment and withdrawal period. In the long term, it usually results in more relapses and milk production ceasing much earlier than normal, leading to the cow having to “leave the herd” (read: be euthanized). It is also very painful for the cow and often involves high veterinary and medication costs as well as extra work for the farmer. Photo: Agricam
Globalist Counter

DSM-Firmenich is the company that manufactures Bovaer®. It was formed in 2023 through a merger of Dutch Royal DSM and Swiss Firmenich. They describe themselves with the words: “We are innovators in nutrition, health, and beauty. And we contribute to progress.” Unknown to many is that they manufacture the chemical fragrances in many of the world’s most famous perfumes, such as Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium and Kilian’s Good Girl Gone Bad. They also manufacture a range of UV filters (for example, PARSOL® SLX, PARSOL® DHHB, and PARSOL® EHT), which are found in most well-known sunscreens and block the absorption of vital vitamin D. The globalist foundation World Economic Forum (WEF) describes DSM-Firmenich as a “strategic partner,” and they also enjoy generous development grants from the globalist funding foundation Gates Foundation. The manufacturer of Bovaer, the multinational company DSM-Firmenich, has felt compelled to issue a press release: “We are deeply committed to protecting livestock health and well-being, supporting dairy farm performance, and securing the future of milk production, which we have consistently done for decades.”
Critics on social media commented that it sounded more like empty platitudes and marketing than a response to the serious health problems reported. The globalist-allied company then tried to downplay the situation and marginalize the many farmers who have raised the alarm: “Currently, about 1,400 Danish farmers are using Bovaer’s feed supplement, and we are aware that some farmers in recent days have expressed some concern about their cows’ health. We are actively collaborating with relevant organizations to ensure that all these issues are fully investigated and addressed properly.”
The large company then used, among other things, self-made investigations to exonerate itself and announced: “In previously reported cases, Bovaer was not identified as a contributing factor to the health problems highlighted.”
Critics compare it to how vaccine companies act, which often refer to their own “studies” as proof that their products do not cause the side effects, injuries, and deaths reported by healthcare and those affected. The criticism was hardly softened by DSM-Firmenich repeatedly saying that their product is “proven, effective, and safe,” words that ring false in many ears after the medical tyranny and forced “vaccines” of the COVID years. Other observers argue that neither politicians nor even regulatory authorities can be trusted anymore, as they have repeatedly shown themselves to advance the globalists’ agendas—regardless of public will, statistics, or even scientific evidence.
Swedish Farmer Sounded Early Warning About Bovaer

Already in January, Swedish outlet Nya Tider reported on Britons who, in protest against Bovaer and Arla, which introduced the chemical on farms in the UK, posted pictures on social media of them pouring milk down the toilet. One who reacted early to the introduction of Bovaer is Claes Jonsson, chairman of the interest association Sweden’s Dairy Farmers, whom Nya Tider interviewed in December 2024e. On January 6, he urges all dairies in the agricultural magazine ATL: “Immediately stop the use of and any plans to start using Bovaer or other similar feed supplements. We do not want to risk our own health, our animals’ health, or consumers’ trust!” Jonsson notes that: “Consumers are afraid of this chemical and do not want the animals to get it. It can be dangerous for us dairy farmers to handle the feed supplement in its pure form. It is very expensive.”
He reacted to the fact that the Federation of Swedish Farmers (LRF) uncritically defends Bovaer: “LRF has come out and writes that Bovaer is not dangerous for the animals. Who does LRF represent here? The farmer who is forced to mix in the preparation, the dairy that wants to score climate points, or the climate movement that doesn’t care about either animals or farmers in its eagerness to reduce cows’ methane emissions?” He further explained that tests in Denmark with Bovaer have shown that if “young animals get it, feed consumption decreases and growth decreases significantly.” He therefore draws the logical conclusion: “Reasonably, consumption and thus milk volume should decrease in milking cows as well. The trials conducted do not even cover a full lactation, so we know nothing about how fertility or future lactations are affected.”
Denmark Investigates
Ida Storm, director of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council for Cattle (DAFC), gave her industry organization’s view on the matter in mid-November last year. She was unexpectedly cautious: “We are aware of some cases where dairy farmers report problems after starting to use Bovaer. This is of course very concerning for us. Animal welfare must not be compromised. At the same time, we are surprised, as no research or large-scale trials have shown any problems.”
She consciously or unconsciously put her finger on the fact that research and studies, done or funded by the manufacturers of the products to be scrutinized, rarely or never see the slightest risk with them—especially not when there is an underlying globalist agenda.
Storm added that DAFC has launched an online survey where dairy farmers can report problems: “We hope to quickly learn more and hopefully find solutions. We strongly urge farmers who experience problems to participate in the survey.” Jacob Jensen, Denmark’s Minister for Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries, has said that he was aware that “some” farmers reported “challenges” in connection with the use of Bovaer. He then added seemingly dutifully: “I naturally take this very seriously, and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration [DVFA] is monitoring the matter closely. Regardless of the cautious wording, it means in practice that Bovaer is now the subject of an investigation in Denmark. That in itself is a partial victory for the suffering cows, the farmers who lose cows and milk production, and us consumers who have reason to worry about how Bovaer affects the milk.”
Arla Forced to Back Down
The Swedish-Danish dairy giant Arla has also been forced to speak out, largely because Bovaer is now de facto under investigation in Denmark. The company’s spokesperson said that the feed additive “has been successfully used for over three years by thousands of farmers in over 25 countries” and then added that “we are aware that some farmers in recent times have expressed concern about the cows’ health.” On November 9, 2025, the British mainstream media BBC reported that Arla has been forced to halt the ongoing trials with Bovaer in the UK: “A major British study of a controversial feed additive designed to reduce methane gas emissions from dairy cows that cause warming of the Earth’s atmosphere has been discontinued. Arla Foods, owner of the UK’s largest dairy cooperative, is now reviewing the results of the tests on 30 farms before any decision on future use is made.”

Countries using Bovaer in February 2025, when 150 trials on farms in 20 countries were ongoing. The controversial feed additive is available for sale today in 70 countries, including the EU, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, and the USA. Pilot projects with Bovaer were already conducted in 2023 in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. This year, Arla has expressed its WEF-mandated ambition to introduce it in Sweden. Not through force, but with discreet economic incentives directly to the farmers. But after the ongoing situation in Denmark and the recently discontinued trials in the UK, Arla can be assumed to lie low—at least for the nearest future. Map: DSM-Firmenich
Arla states that they are now “actively collaborating with relevant organizations to ensure that all these issues are fully investigated and addressed properly.” Interestingly, Arla’s spokesperson then parroted, word for word, exactly what DSM-Firmenich said: “In previously reported cases, Bovaer was not identified as a contributing factor to the health problems highlighted.”
This in itself raised some eyebrows among those following the development. It may be worth knowing here that the globalist foundation World Economic Forum (WEF) has established a hierarchy among the world’s multinational corporations by giving them different ranks as collaboration partners. The highest ranked are “Strategic partners” like DSM-Firmenich, while Arla has a lower ranking. The more they advance the globalist agenda, the higher they are ranked. Many have pointed out that this ranking is so important to corporate executives that it also seems to manifest in the relationships between large companies. This is not far-fetched, as it has emerged that the ranking affects, for example, financing opportunities, as well as a host of other WEF-created and hidden from the public ranking systems based on how well companies meet mandated goals in areas such as “diversity” (read: discrimination against whites) or Net Zero.
There are therefore those who believe that this may be the underlying reason why Arla not only verbatim repeats what higher-ranked DSM-Firmenich said, but why the dairy giant is working so hard to introduce something that has de facto given them bad publicity, suspicious consumers, even angrier farmers, poorer milk production, and thus damaged reputation and profit.
Dangerous and Stupid
The situation in Denmark is so bad that the National Association for Danish Milk Producers (LDM) has initiated its own investigation. Chairman Kjartan Poulsen clarifies in a comment to the milk producers’ association that it is not about “some” or a few farmers who “complain,” but a storm of concern and anger: “We have so many calling us and being dissatisfied with what is happening in their herds.”
Poulsen now urges the Minister of Agriculture in Denmark to immediately introduce a “timeout” so that the authorities and the dairy industry can find out what is actually happening and how Bovaer affects the cows and milk production.

Huibert von Dorp dared to go public and both raise the alarm and, under threat of fines, say that he refuses to continue torturing his cows with Bovaer. He was quoted, among others, by the independent American news channel Redacted, which has 2.84 million subscribers on YouTube. Here is a selection from the over 1,500 comments under the segment “The Cows Are Dying! After the Methane Feed Mandate” from November 8: @Artur -sw8er: They are poisoning the healthiest food for us humans. @Freimann1990 : I’m Danish and this isn’t even in our news… @topperharley7892: If you control the food, you control the population. @DonnaBecker: If the chemical is toxic to the cow, it’s toxic to the human who drinks the milk and eats the cow. Still image: Redacted
Huibert Van Dorp is another Danish farmer who has dared to go public and warn about Bovaer. He talks about how his cows suffered from high fever and became lethargic after being given Bovaer, with three becoming really badly affected: “We have had three cases since we started where they got severe stomach cramps.” He further explains that despite calling a veterinarian, one of the cows’ lives could not be saved. The farmer also says that he has heard from a number of other farmers about everything from problems with inflammation to cows not being able to stand up, and collapsing.
Van Dorp emphasizes that what is happening now seriously harms animal welfare and therefore believes that it violates Danish animal protection laws to give cows the feed additive Bovaer. The independent Swedish journalist Peter Imanuelsen, has followed the development with Bovaer from the start.
According to a blog post, Imanuelsen, also known as “Peter of Sweden” noted: “If it is harmful to the cows, the question arises how it affects us milk consumers. If cows collapse from ingesting this chemical, and it is known to be so toxic that farmers must wear protective equipment, then I really don’t want to drink or eat any dairy products that come from these cows.” Imanuelsen voiced what many think but few dare to express openly: “And the only reason they are giving this to the cows is to reduce their farts, to reduce climate emissions. I can’t understand how stupid this is.”
