Trump outing the Clinton Foundation for accepting money from countries such as Saudi Arabia that abuse women and gays and minority groups during the debate Wednesday, proved popular with the audience.
He called the Clinton Foundation “a criminal enterprise” with scant regard for women, taking bribes from countries with a terrible human rights record.
“Saudi Arabia giving $25 million, Qatar, all of these countries, you check about women and women’s race — these are people that push gays off buildings. They kill women and treat women horribly, and yet you take their money,” Trump pointed out.
“So I would like to ask you right now,” he continued. “Why don’t you give back the money that you have taken from certain countries that treat certain groups of people so horribly? Why don’t you give back the money? I think it would be a great gesture, because she takes a tremendous amount of money.”
“The Clinton Foundation is a disgrace,” he added. “And you know it, and they know it, and everybody knows it.”
Clinton replied by stating the Clinton Foundation spends 90 percent of the money from donors, saying she’s “very proud” and that it has the “highest rating from the watchdogs”. She then pivoted to a comparison between the Clinton Foundation and the Trump Foundation, which she said wasted money taken from other people.
