There is zero evidence Russian hackers messed with voting. Ironically, Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s recount has eliminated any doubt about the integrity of the results.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) which oversees the 17 agency-strong US intelligence community, has not endorsed The CIA’s claims, because of a lack of conclusive evidence that Moscow intended to boost Trump over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, said officials who declined to be named.
Three US officials who asked not to be named, on Monday spoke to Reuters exclusively.
This comes after key figures in the Republican Party sided with their Democratic counterparts and have demanded an investigation into allegations that Russian hackers intended to upset Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
The position of the ODNI could give Trump fresh ammunition to question the motives leading to the CIA assessment.
He has rejected their attempt as “ridiculous” over the weekend in remarks to FoxNews.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the only body with the legal standing to address the allegations, has already rejected the CIA’s analysis for the same reason, the three officials said.
The CIA’s assertions does not appear to have been the product of specific new intelligence obtained since the election, several American officials, including some who had read the agency’s briefing, told the New York Times on Sunday.
Despite left-wing “fake news” there is no evidence Russian hackers actually distorted the voting process.
The CIA is alleging that Russians may have helped hack of the Democratic National Committee emails, as well as possibly the emails of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
