“Normally at Christmas we think of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. I wonder though if this year we might remember how the story of the nativity unfolds, with the fleeing of the holy family to escape violent persecution. And we might also remember that when the prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina…”
He went on to to explain that the destination of all religions are the same, which is a misrepresentation. Some religions liberate, while others enslave. Islamists specifically seek a global theocracy in the name of Muhammed.
The Prince also went on to compare Brexit and other pro-border movements to European Fascism.
But as the Prince pleaded with Christians to heed the Muslim prophet, British police have warned that an assault on British streets by jihadists is “highly likely” following a terror attack in Berlin. The terror threat level in the UK is currently at ‘severe’ as hundreds of armed police and SAS troops are deployed on the streets.
Metropolitan Police have revealed they are reviewing detailed plans to protect the public at events across Christmas and the New Year. “These [plans] already recognise that the threat level is at ‘severe’, meaning an attack is highly likely, and have considered a range of threats, including the use of large vehicles.
“As a matter of routine, as a precaution, we review our plans after attacks overseas, and we are doing so at present following the awful incidents in Berlin and Ankara.”
Highly trained British SAS soldiers will go undercover at some of Britain’s most popular tourist spots including Christmas markets and shopping centres, after reports of a “credible” threat of a terror attack this festive season.
Critics have called the Prince “delusional” to compare pro-border political movements to Nazism, as well as ignoring the violence perpetrated by Islamic extremists.
Other European cities, including Paris, Vienna, Copenhagen and Oslo have also upped security at local Christmas markets.
Austria’s Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka has instructed state police to increase security in busy public places. Sobotka confirmed that several asylum seekers were arrested in Fuschl in the Austrian state of Salzburg on Monday morning.
He added that police believe the main suspect arrested in Fuschl, a 25-year-old Moroccan man, had been planning a “serious offence”.
Copenhagen Police too announced on Tuesday that police presence would be beefed up at local Christmas markets and the popular shopping street Strøget. Danish security authorities have installed physical barriers at the entrances to certain public spaces.
In Norway police operations manager Cathrine Sylju told broadcaster NRK: “We are increasing patrols in places where large crowds gather, including the Christmas market in Spikersuppa,” a popular Christmas market in Oslo. Police in Bergen also said that security would be increased at “symbolic targets” like Christmas markets.
