According to the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll, a majority of US voters oppose shutting down the government over Democratic immigration demands The Hill reported.

A budget deal that includes provisions to shield immigrants from deportation who came to the country illegally as children, is unpopular with most voters.

“When respondents were asked whether they “favor or oppose Democrats voting to shut the government down” if the funding measure does not restore work permits for those protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, 58 percent said they oppose a shutdown,” according to The Hill.

While 68 percent of Democrats are in favor of a shutdown aimed at extending the DACA program, a massive 83 percent of Republicans and 65 percent of independents would oppose a shutdown over immigration fight, the poll revealed.

The findings mirror a CNN survey released on Friday that found 56 percent of respondents believe that passing a budget to avoid a shutdown was more important than a bipartisan agreement on DACA.

According to USA Today, there’s 3.6 million of these illegal adult-children living in America who could potentially be eligible for amnesty.

Democrats had claimed earlier that even a partial “government shutdown” would lead to chaos. Despite their own previous dire warnings, they are moving to shut down government on behalf of non-citizen, adult, illegal immigrants. This is the first government shutdown since 2013.

The Senate needs 60 votes for the a spending bill. With 50 Republicans present, the majority GOP needed to win support from 10 or more Democrats, many of whom oppose the plan if they are not able to also pass a bill shielding the young undocumented immigrants from deportation. Eleven Republicans opposed the legislation, while six Democrats supported it.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders released a statement attacking Democrats for the shutdown.

“We will not negotiate the status of unlawful immigrants while Democrats hold our lawful citizens hostage over their reckless demands. This is the behavior of obstructionist losers, not legislators. When Democrats start paying our armed forces and first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform,” she said.

President Trump tweeted: “Now Democrats are needed if it is to pass in the Senate – but they want illegal immigration and weak borders. Shutdown coming? We need more Republican victories in 2018!”

A recent study of the illegals known as “DACA Dreamers” found that most of these new Democrat voters reside in Republican states.

Some Republicans including Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, well as almost all Democrats, are determined to pass amnesty for this group of illegals.

The Dreamer populations would swing several states to a Democratic majority, even with the original estimate of around 800 000 Dreamers in the US.

The lastest figures of 3.6 million illegals show that DACA amnesty could give Arizona, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina to the Democratic Party with the possibility of Texas no longer voting Republican either.
