Busted! Paid agitators for US presidential inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump may have a point about public violence being orchestrated.

According to The Washington Times, advertisements for jobs are running in more than 20 American cities, offering $2,500 per month for agitators to crash the presidential inauguration events this week.

“Get paid fighting against Trump!” the advertisement says.

Demand Protest, a company that calls itself the “largest private grassroots support organization in the United States,” posted identical advertisements in multiple cities on Backpage.com on 12 January.

The San Francisco outfit says they are seeking “operatives”.

“We pay people already politically motivated to fight for the things they believe. You were going to take action anyways, why not do so with us!” the invitation to job seekers continues. “We are currently seeking operatives to help send a strong message at upcoming inauguration protests.”

A monthly retainer of $2,500 plus “our standard per-event pay of $50/hr, as long as you participate in at least 6 events a year,” as well as health, vision and dental insurance are available to full-time “operatives” to disrupt the Trump inauguration.
