Denis Pushilin, the President of the Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and a chief negotiator in the Minsk-2 ceasefire process for the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk (LPR) reports on DONi News Agency that “the territory in the last day has been fired at more than 2,000 times with artillery shells of 152-mm caliber, MLRS BM-21 Grad, shells of 120 mm caliber, as well as tanks and grenade launchers. Infrastructure is destroyed, whole towns are left without water and electricity, there are dead and wounded.”
Udo Stein, MP of the regional parliament of the German federal state Baden-Württemberg for the Eurosceptic “Alternative für Deutschland” party (AfD) who visited Donbass in July 2016 commented on the new developments in Donbass:
“The new aggression in Donbass is unacceptable. I visited the region in July 2017 and witnessed the humanitarian disaster. The Ukrainian government should stop its attacks against the Donbass civilians and return to the negotiating table as soon as possible. The Donbass region is part of Europe. The European leaders – the German government as well – have the obligation to make political pressure to stop this new escalation of this war.”
His colleague Thomas Rudy (AfD), MP of the regional parliament of Thuringia, said:
“We are very concerned about the new escalation of the war in Donbass. This aggression mainly against civilians of Donbass has to stop immediately.”
Saxonian MP Jörg Urban criticized the German government for its support for the Ukrainian government:
“The troops of Kiev conduct a massive attack against civilian areas in Donbass. The German government supports the Kiev war-mongers with millions of Euros from the German tax payers. This is unacceptable!”
