AfD member receives Eagle Award from pro-Trump Foundation
The chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, Petr Bystron (AfD), has received the prestigious Eagle Award award from the conservative Eagle Council in St Louis, USA.

The Eagle Award of the Trump-affiliated Phyllis Schlafly Foundation has thus been awarded to two European politicians this year. In addition to Bystron, the conservative Polish MP Dominik Tarczynski (PiS) was honored too.
Bystron reminded his audience that the AfD is currently the only party in the Bundestag without NSDAP members (considered to be true Nazis), as all the other parties have such former members. “We have not one,” Bystron said.
He said the real reason the AfD is being called “Nazis” is because they are anti-establishment. Bystron is the first German to receive the award.
Bystron is slated to join Steve Bannon in a meeting with Milos Zeman, president of the Czech Republic in early October. Joining the meeting with Bannon and Zeman, Bystron said, will be Raheem Hassan, the former editor of Breitbart London and former aide to Brexit leader Nigel Farage.
Eagle honoree Dominik Tarczynski, a member of parliament from Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party, said: “We have to fight for our identity, for our DNA, cultural DNA, unless we want to become useless.
“Europe, and whatever we achieved, came from Christian culture: Greek philosophers, Roman law, Christian faith—this is what we are…What do we want? Do we want Roman law, or do we want sharia law?”
Last year, the award went to former Trump strategist Steve Bannon.
The Phyllis Schlafly Foundation is one of the United States’ oldest conservative lobby groups. She had organised the Eagle Council conference in St Louis, Missouri, for 47 years. Past winners of the Eagle Award include not only Trump’s former advisor Bannon, but also US Attorney-General Jeff Sessions and Conservative Senator Jesse Helms.
The dinner was held in a partitioned ballroom at the Marriott St Louis Airport. Both award winners are enthusiastic fans of President Donald Trump, and champions of European identity.
Also honored was Donald Trump’s former security adviser Lt General Mike Flynn. He received the Singlaub Award.
The list of participants in the annual conference reads like the who’s who of the US conservative scene.
Prominent guests include leading US Islam critic Pamela Geller, ex-Trump economics consultant Stephen Moore, Congressman Steve King, Fox News contributor Tony Shaffer, “Sheriff Merciless” Joe Arpaio, the Canadian YouTube philosopher Stefan Molyneux, and investigative journalists James O’Keefe, Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec.
Phyllis Schlafly was the US’s most prominent critic in the 1970s and 1980s and close companion to Republican President Ronald Reagan.
In 2016, she supported the presidential election campaign of Donald Trump. She died of cancer in the same year.
