The restrictions, which should remain in force at least until April 3, will affect all of Lombardy and eleven provinces of Piedmont, Veneto and Emilia Romagna. From all these areas, entrances and exits will be allowed only for “serious and indifferent reasons”. In fact, there are no longer “red zones” but “safety zones” in which firm restrictions will be in force, including the suspension of weddings and funerals and the obligation to maintain the safety distance of one meter in bars and restaurants.
“Now it is essential to follow the recommendations to slow down the spread of Covid-19,” explained the president of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Silvio Brusaferro.
In Lombardy and in the 11 provinces identified, schools , museums, cinemas, theaters, discos, night clubs, bingo halls, gyms, sports centers, swimming pools, wellness centers, spas and the ski facilities will be closed. All public competitions will be suspended as well as “sporting events and competitions of all types and disciplines”.
