In recent years, the numbers have been steadily increasing. While in 2015, 35 000 people were accommodated in hotels in the Paris region, the daily number of overnight stays stood at more than 53 000 in October last year already.

The “average cost of a night at 21 euros” in Paris and 18 euros on average in the region.

The total bill to be paid at 643 hotels in Ile-de-France is nearly 1 million euros each night, which is 300 million euros per year. On average, people staying at a hotel stay there for two and a half years. But “half have been there for more than two years, said Laconde.
