On the website of the Ukrainian company Cache, the bunkers are advertised as follows: “Combine quality of life and reliable protection for your family in a self-contained underground air raid shelter.”
Cache’s shelters are nothing like the hulking concrete bunkers we’re used to. Rather, they come as underground mini houses, where design and aesthetics are not neglected. These can be installed underground in your own garden.
According to Cache’s website, the “purpose of the accommodation is to offer a comfortable home in the most difficult conditions” – with an energy-efficient ventilation system, autonomous water supply, ergonomic kitchen with kitchen appliances and freezer.
An area of at least 12 x 5 meters must be available for the construction, under which the bunker is to be built. In addition, there must be free space nearby for excavation work, a place for access of special equipment (crane, tractor, dump truck, etc.), the absence of obstacles in the ground and in the air (technical networks, lines, brackets).
Meanwhile, in Ukraine: business builds custom family-friendly metal underground bunkers
