Nigel Farage calls for investigation into Soros meddling

An investigation into the political influence of the billionaire magnate is needed urgently to see how much Open Society, the foundation founded by Soros, had “attempted to change the political climate” across the entire Western world.

Nigel Farage’s comments come after it was revealed the 87-year-old political meddler had donated large sums of money to the anti-Brexit campaign group Best for Britain.

Farage said:“The argument I’m making is that all the Russian conspiracy stuff has come to nowt despite investigations, questions in parliament and all of it.

“I’m saying if there’s an investigation needed, it was the extent to which George Soros’ Open Society has attempted to change the political climate, not just in Britain, but entire the Western world.

“That’s the investigation we need”.

Soros had transferred $18 billion to his Open Society Foundations group which held 42 meetings with the European Commission in 2016.

Lat year it published a list containing some 226 MEPs it considers “reliable allies” — including former President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, who is now in line to become Angela Merkel’s vice-chancellor, Brexit negotiator Guy Verhofstadt, as well as a number of influential powerbrokers.

Farage told his LBC audience that the influential members on the Soros list ignored his requests for more information on their funding.

“Since those twin shocks of Brexit and Trump back in 2016, one of the main narratives from the establishment has been, ‘These things happened because of outside interference’,” he told listeners on the LBC radioshow.

“Yes, we’re back to our old friends, ‘The Russians!’ We’ve had Ben Bradshaw, Labour MP, standing up in the House of Commons, and saying that Russian money was put into the Brexit campaign.

“In America, we’ve reached levels of total hysteria — so much so that, apparently, I was acting as a Russian agent,” Farage noted.

Russian influence has been a favourite talking point in mainstream media, but Farage dismissed the notion outrigh. “I believe that Russian interference actually is almost negligible. It’s being dragged up as an excuse.

“But I have felt for some time — in fact, I’ve felt for the last six, seven years — that there was one major global influence… I’m talking about one massive attempt by a very rich man to change the politics across the whole of the West of the world, and I spoke about this in the European Parliament as recently as last November.”

Farage concluded: “There’s a man called George Soros out there, whose organisation, Open Society, doesn’t have millions, or tens of millions, or hundreds of millions, but billions — over 20 billion so far — that it is using, spending, campaigning for organisations like the European Union; campaign for mass migration.”

Sociologist Frank Furedi similarly told Breitbart that Open Society activists working for Soros bragged about toppling governments at a private lunch.

A former professor of sociology at the University of Kent in Canterbury, Furedi told the Telegraph newspaper how Soros’ efforts to bring down the British government and trigger another EU referendum to stop Brexit.

“Soros believes that if the people voted the wrong way, he is entitled to thwart decisions made by them,” according to Furedi.

“Soros does not believe in the legitimacy of borders nor in the authority of national electorates. Consequently, he feels entitled to influence and if possible direct the political destiny of societies all over the world.”

Furedi encountered the “Soros operation” in 2013, at an Open Society Youth Exchange exchange event, where entitled activists from across the globe thought they could play God with other people’s lives.

Most of those in attendance were smart, idealistic young people who appeared to be committed to making the world a better place. My only concern with the gathering was it regarded its participants as a group of democratic missionaries, who would go back home to spread the good word.

Dutch, American, British, Ukrainian and Hungarian representatives of Soros NGOs boasted about their achievements such as playing “a major role in the Arab Spring in Egypt, the coup in the Ukraine and their influence in preparing the overthrow of Muammar Gadafif in Libya.

“I sat quietly and felt uncomfortable with a group of people who so casually assumed that they had the right to play God throughout the world,” he said.

Foreign intervention disrupted the North African country to such an extent that it became a failed state, where jihadists are at large, black Africans are sold openly in slave markets, and criminal people-smugglers coin a handsome profit ferrying illegal migrants to Europe with the assistance of NGOs linked to Soros.
