Trump calls Black Caucus member ‘low-IQ individual’

Trump called Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters a “very low-IQ individual”. Waters routinely calls for Trump’s impeachment because the president has allegedly enabled “Russian meddling”.

“Maxine Waters, a very low-IQ individual, ever see her? You ever seen her? ‘We will impeach him! We will impeach the president!’ But he hasn’t done anything wrong. It doesn’t matter, we will impeach him! She’s a low-IQ individual. You can’t help it. She really is,” Trump told his laughing audience.

Waters has been a loud opponent of Trump since he became president and frequently calls for her Democratic colleagues to impeach him, but has not offered any firm proof of Trump’s so-called transgressions.

Not long ago the black Congresswoman accused President Vladimir Putin of “advancing into Korea”.

In a recent interview, Waters claimed she had been a “millenial” once in her youth, completely misunderstanding the term and context for the generational movement. Waters is 79 years old; she was born in 1938.

In May 1992, after the deadly Los Angeles race riots, Waters was quoted by the Los Angeles Times on 29 April 2007: “If you call it a riot, it sounds like it was just a bunch of crazy people who went out and did bad things for no reason. I maintain it was somewhat understandable, if not acceptable. So I call it a rebellion.”

In regards to the looting of Korean-owned stores by local black residents during the riot, she said: “There were mothers who took this as an opportunity to take some milk, to take some bread, to take some shoes… They are not crooks.”

Black residents had set fires, looted and destroyed liquor stores, grocery stores, retail shops and fast food restaurants. Light-skinned motorists — both white and Latino — were targeted and pulled out of their cars and savagely beaten.

Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the California Assembly, to which she was first elected in 1976. As an Assembly member, Waters was very influential in advocating divestment from South Africa to end apartheid.

It is not the first time Trump has alluded to IQ. In October of last year, Trump offered to compare IQ tests with Rex Tillerson after reports that the secretary of State had called him a “moron”.

On Saturday again Trump called for tough action against drug dealers. He said Chinese President Xi Jinping used capital punishment to deal with the scourge, but added: “I don’t know if this country’s ready for it.”

“Do you think the drug dealers who kill thousands of people during their lifetime, do you think they care who’s on a blue-ribbon committee?” Trump asked. “The only way to solve the drug problem is through toughness. When you catch a drug dealer, you’ve got to put him away for a long time.”

Trump also spoke about North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un’s willingness to sign a peace agreement with the United States as well as to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries. Trump has accepted the invitation to meet with Kim in May following months of heightened tensions and military threats, calling the achievement a “tremendous success”.

South Korean media reported on Monday, citing a source at the South Korean presidential administration, that Kim spoke about his intention to normalize relations with Washington.
