Merkel’s CDU suffer historic losses in state elections

It was a disaster for Chancellor Angela Merkel's party, the CDU: Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate were once their strongholds. Record results of up to 60 percent had previously formed an abundant reservoir of votes for election victories, but six months before the general election in Germany, the exhausted CDU no longer has a free ticket to the Federal Chancellery.

The state elections in the two states kicked off the super election year 2021 on Sunday. According to initial forecasts by state broadcasters ARD and ZDF, the previous Prime Ministers Winfried Kretschmann and Malu Dreyer will be confirmed in both federal states.

Many CDU members blamed negative news coverage about masks, but Jörg Schönenborn from the ARD pointed out that the effects of the mask affair had been limited for the CDU. The reason: the high proportion of postal voters. They had cast their vote before the scandal became known.

The Greens can now look forward to a new record result and gains in Rhineland-Palatinate under Prime Minister Kretschmann. According to projections, the free voters there will be represented the state parliament for the first time. The AfD had to accept losses in both states, while on the other hand, the FDP was one of the happy faces on the election evening.

With this terrible result, it is not impossible that Merkel will have to hand over her office to SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz or the Greens in autumn. Scholz has already spoken of a “progressive formation of a government”. The CDU and CSU are on the defensive, ironically because the SPD had wanted to free itself from the clutches of the grand coalition four years ago.

In contrast to Scholz, the FDP plays only a minor role in the coalition deliberations of its party leaders Norbert Walter-Borjahns and Saskia Esken. FDP General Secretary Volker Wissing blames the CDU for having given up on the bourgeois-conservative camp.

In Baden-Württemberg, the CDU, which has mutated into a junior partner, is expecting that the strengthened Greens will be getting rid of them soon. The CDU was reviled by the Greens in the state as an impediment. This development is surprising, especially in Baden Würtemberg, where the automotive industry is being wiped out by the Greens and many livelihoods are at stake.

Thuringia’s AfD chairman Björn Höcke commented: “The CDU that has been gutted not only in terms of content but also morally has suffered a deserved defeat. The good performance of the deindustrialization and prohibition party. the Greens, in Baden-Württemberg is frightening.”

Green candidate Winfried Kretschmann will be forming his new coalition – possibly a traffic light alliance of the Greens, SPD and FDP. The once decimated SPD can now look forward to a few ministerial chairs, with the opposition FDP also hoping to get into the government. Their top candidates have already submitted their applications to the election winner. On ZDF, SPD General Secretary Lars Klingbeil also saw the result as proof that governments were possible without the CDU.

The AfD remained on the outside in both state parliaments. It lost votes compared to 2016, but that comes as no surprise, as the trench warfare within the party had been too intense, especially in Baden-Württemberg, and it continues to be destructive in the federal government as well. Baden-Württemberg’s AfD state chief Alice Weidel admitted to ARD that the quarrels in the parliamentary group in the last legislative period had cost them votes.

The AfD was supposed to consolidate its votes in Stuttgart and Mainz, as a bourgeois-conservative party to the right of the Union. The fact that the Union is now taking revenge by marginalizing the AfD while losing their coalition partners, has been little consolation.

Jürgen Elsässer, the editor of Compact magazine, commented on the result of the AfD as follows: “The AfD has clearly lost – and that in a situation where it was the only opponent to the unitary block of the lockdown parties and thus had a great unique selling point. That was only possible because [AfD party boss Jörg] Meuthen completely castrated it, so that the public can hardly tell it apart from the FDP. The self-dwarfing will continue with Meuthen.”

The CDU debacle goes hand in hand with the rise of the Greens, while the FDP can be bought with ministerial positions. According to Elsässer, the AfD has been damaged by Meuthen’s internal campaign to rid the party of ” extremists”. “The only hope lies in extra-parliamentary resistance,” Elsässer said and pointed out that the new dominant people’s party was the Greens.

“The Greens is the party of the Great Reset, the direct recipients of orders from [Bill] Gates, [George] Soros and [Klaus] Schwab.”

Bernd Baumann, parliamentary manager of the AfD parliamentary group, spoke to ZDF about the result: “There is a clear majority in the Federal Republic beyond the left-green group.”  He said the liberal-conservative parties had a majority in both states. In addition, the result of the CDU showed that if they get in bed with the Greens, they lose. When Baumann pointed out that AfD campaigners have ended up in the hospital because of physical attacks on them, CSU General Secretary Blume simply replied: “The role of victim does not suit you.”

    1. Merkel’s chickens are coming home to roost, and it’s not over yet. Over the last decade the AfD has been the target of a continuous campaign by Merkel’s CDU and its allies in the German political class and media, with the aim of rendering it a pariah political party. Voter support is indeed down for the AfD, and none of the other political parties will work with it, and now AfD party membership is being made unacceptable per CDU and leftist-backed political attacks. The result has been that voters see the only practical alternative to the CDU as parties further to its left. The SDP and the Greens are thus the big winners in this weekend’s elections in Rhine-Palatinate and Baden-Wurttemberg, despite the fact that their party platforms and agenda are hard-core leftist and globalist. Once again, the German people are the losers, as their country’s sclerotic political party system moves farther to the left.

DESTRUCTIVE HAILSTORMS will become more frequent and violent with increasingly larger hail, predicted solar researcher Valentina Zharkova back in 2019 when she stated that it's one of many signs of an impending Grand Solar Minimum. This is exactly what we have witnessed this year in both Europe and the world. Here is the German town of Benediktbeuern in Bavaria after a hailstorm on August 26th. Almost all rooftops and cars were damaged. The centuries-old church and monastery were damaged for the first time ever. Interestingly, the monastery was rebuilt in 1699 during the Maunder Minimum. Combined with heavy rainfall, extreme weather will devastate a significant portion of our food production. For instance, heavy rainfall destroyed a quarter of all crops in Greece in just two days in September. However, mainstream media remains silent. Photo: X @safe0007/Sandor Feher

NOAA Predicts Zero Sunspots for Almost the Whole 2030s

CLIMATEThe United States' government scientific organization, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), predicts zero sunspots from 2031 to 2040. This is an extreme situation that has not occurred in as long as humanity has been counting sunspots, and it leads us into uncharted territory in terms of our solar system. However, this prediction aligns with the warnings of the world-renowned solar researcher Valentina Zharkova for many years, who indicated in 2019 various signs of this catastrophic phenomenon, including the extreme hailstorms we have seen in Europe and the world this summer. The forecast and various observations this year give cause for very significant concern. In this unique analysis, Free West Media explains why.

NATIONALIST COLLABORATION TAKES SHAPE. Six parties met in Budapest on August 26th to sign a joint declaration confirming the friendship and political unity among the parties. The goal is to either form a new group in the European Parliament after the EU elections in June next year or to reconstitute the existing Identity and Democracy (ID) group with the new parties. European Nationalist Parties Forge Cooperation Ahead of EU Elections

EUROPEAN ELECTIONSOn Saturday, August 26, representatives of six European nationalist parties gathered in Budapest. The meeting was initiated by the Hungarian party Mi Hazánk and took place in the national parliament. Representatives of the parties signed a joint declaration that not only reaffirms the parties' friendship but also their unity on a range of complex political issues. A surprisingly clear and radical manifesto was established. The hope is that this cooperation will lead to success in the EU elections and eventually result in the formation of a group in the European Parliament. For Swedish nationalism, this meeting marks a success as Sweden, for the first time, has a party represented in a leading nationalist cooperation in Europe. Free West Media was present at this historic event.

The Russian attack helicopter Ka-52 is considered one of the world's best and has struck fear in Ukraine, where it has hunted down tanks and other armored vehicles, often beyond the range of many light anti-aircraft systems. However, it has met its match in the Swedish air defense missile system RBS 70, which has quickly led to significant losses for the Russian helicopter forces.

The Sun Drives Earth’s Climate, Not Carbon Dioxide

Top Researchers Push Back Against Climate Lies."The correlation is as clear as day," explained the Israeli astrophysicist Nir Shaviv, who was hailed by the establishment, before his interview with Forbes was hastily deleted. What he says contradicts the climate narrative, which points to humans as responsible for Earth's climate. Shaviv firmly asserts that it is the sun that controls the climate, something that can be scientifically proven in many ways. Contrary to the popular belief, the sun's influence on Earth has, in recent years, caused unusually cold and rainy weather, a trend that solar researchers warn will worsen significantly in the coming decades. The sun has exhibited an unusually low activity since 2016, during Solar Cycle 24, which was the weakest in a century.

Alternative for Germany held its conference during the last weekend of July in the thousand-year-old city of Magdeburg, located by the Elbe River in the eastern German state of Saxony. The first of the two conference days began with a strong program speech by the party's male spokesperson. Subsequently, party officials were elected and motions were addressed. The second day was entirely devoted to candidate selection and positioning for the EU election in June next year. Screenshot: AfD on Facebook

    Strong Confidence in German AfD

Alternative for Germany (AfD) held a party conference on July 29-30 to select candidates for the upcoming EU election next year. EU Parliament member Maximilian Krah, belonging to the party's more radical, ethnonationalist faction, was appointed as the top candidate. The party's two spokespersons delivered powerful speeches criticizing the EU's failed migration policy and trade sanctions that isolate Europe and Germany from the rest of the world. They argued that it's time for the EU to return a significant portion of its power to national parliaments. However, they have dropped the demand for Germany to exit the EU.

Maximilian Krah is one of the AfD politicians who is singled out as an ethnonationalist, as he has stated that there is a distinction between ethnic Germans and immigrants who have obtained German citizenship. Krah is a Member of the European Parliament and AfD's top candidate for the upcoming European Union election next year. Still image: AfD on Facebook

The Establishment Wants to Ban Germany’s Second Largest Party – for the Sake of Democracy

The rising popularity of AfD has raised strong concerns within the establishment. Despite lies and demonization in the media and isolation from the overall political establishment, the party continues to grow. Certain representatives of the party are accused of becoming increasingly "extreme," and in an unusual move, the influential weekly newspaper Der Spiegel demanded that AfD be "banned."
