According to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the future world order, which is taking shape today, will be formed by strong sovereign states. Those who fail to follow this path will remain disenfranchised colonies.
The main points of his speech could be summarized as follows:
1. The break with the West is irreversible and final. No pressure from the West will change that.
2. Russia has regained its sovereignty and will not give it back to anyone. Strengthening political and economic sovereignty are top priorities.
3. The old world is collapsing and the era of American dominance is over. Now a new world is being formed.
4. Despite all the support from the West for Ukraine, the operation in Ukraine will continue until all the goals are achieved.
5. Economically, Russia will not close itself off from the world – the emphasis will be on domestic economic development and the reorientation of trade to countries independent of the US.
6. The EU is no longer seen as a subjective player – solely as a collection of American vassals devoid of military-political subjectivity.
7. Large corporations are once again offered to make a choice – either “nationalization” in Russia, or deprivation of assets in the West.
In general, the main leitmotif of the entire speech is that the ship is on the same course, there will be no turning back. Those who are still waiting or are afraid of the upcoming changes in Russia and in the world are once again offered to make a choice – with whom they want to side.
Putin once again confirmed that his position has not changed since February. The decision to start a Special Military Operation in Ukraine was forced and necessary. All assigned tasks will be completed, he said.
The Russian president also said that sovereignty in the modern world could not be limited. Countries are either sovereign in their decisions, or they are not.
Russia will not see to the closure of their economy and will not strive for complete autarky. Instead, cooperation with countries pursuing an independent policy will be increased. The key tasks are the preservation of political and economic sovereignty, he highlighted.
Putin announced that the EU had completely lost its political sovereignty. For that reason, the actions of the current elites have led to a deepening economic crisis in the EU, huge financial losses, the loss of the Russian market and increased internal tensions.
In fact, the EU did not have much military-political subjectivity before, representing a collection of states and structures dependent on the United States. The presence of individual countries did not cancel the general nature of Europe’s dependence on the United States. And the current crisis has perfectly shown that the EU was not ready to act as a subjective player.
