‘Putin’ Won the Austrian Election

The parliamentary election has ended in Austria, and "Putin" won.

Published: October 2, 2024, 6:28 am

During the election campaign, opponents of the Freedom Party constantly defiled its posters with the words “For Putin”, thinking that this would harm the party. Judging by the fact that this party came first by a good margin, the effort was evidently a success.

The Freedom Party, which is constantly called “Putin’s friends” in the West, won for the first time ever in a National Council election with a preliminary official final result of 29.2 percent, leaving the ÖVP far behind, at 26.5 percent.

Apart from an aversion to more war, crime by foreigners in Austria is also literally exploding and voters have noticed. The increase in rapes has become particularly difficult to hide.

The alarming rise can be seen in the latest figures from the Austrian Ministry of the Interior and Justice, which have recently been published. According to ministry, a total of 1 729 rapes by non-Austrians have occurred in the Alpine republic since 2019. This number corresponds to an average of around 300 rapes per year.

Specifically, a total of 614 374 reports of sexual assault have been filed against foreigners since 2019. In 2023 alone, the authorities registered more than 150 000 reports. Of the more than half a million reports, 53 564 were against asylum seekers, according to FPÖ security spokesman Hannes Amesbauer. The figures mean that an average of 340 reports were filed against foreigners per day.

The statistics also show that the number of serious crimes committed by non-Austrians and asylum seekers has increased sharply. On average, around 72 thefts and 37 physical assaults are committed by foreigners per day. In addition, the statistics also show 121 homicides committed by non-Austrians since 2019, 29 of which were committed by asylum seekers.

In neighboring Germany, according to an INSA survey, almost every second citizen of Baden-Württemberg no longer feels safe when using public transport.

But deportation from the EU remains a pipe dream.

The majority of the registered offenders in Saxony, in Germany, for example, come from Syria (253), Tunisia (190), Libya (151), Afghanistan (121) and Georgia (107). Within three months, lawbreakers from this group committed 19 sexual offenses, 289 violent offenses – including serious bodily harm – and 343 thefts.

The latest figures were obtained from an AfD inquiry in the Saxon state parliament. According to this, there are currently an impressive 1 431 foreign repeat offenders in the state – but only 259 of them are behind bars.

Only 21 were deported in the first half of 2024.

    Officially a useless fund

Officially, the EU wants to use a lot of money to combat the causes of flight in Africa. To this end, it has set up the so-called “EU migration fund”, which has so far supported 27 countries as part of 248 programs. But even in the eyes of the European Court of Auditors, the fund has proven to be a waste of money, because the funds amounting to five billion euros are “distributed according to the watering can principle”. This is what the Court of Auditors’ current report, which was presented in Luxembourg a week ago stated.

This is in fact the second reprimand from the EU auditors. In 2018, they had already attested that the fund was not using funds in a targeted enough way to combat the causes of instability, irregular migration and displacement on the African continent.

Bettina Jakobsen, member of the European Court of Auditors, complained that it has been “without a strategic focus” and was  “not effective enough”. At present, almost everything is allowed, including funding for a radio station, for example.

The indicators used to monitor all their projects also do not show whether their results have actually helped to combat the causes of flight. The EU Commission is therefore still unable to assess which measures can best curb irregular migration and displacement in Africa, the report noted.

The auditors called on the Commission to pursue “fact-based” criteria instead, but it may take more to impress the gaggle of ideologues in Brussels.

    The inflation hoax

Yes, prices are rising, but not for the reasons the Federal Reserve says. When I say inflation is a hoax, I mean the purported cause is a hoax. The Fed is fighting a consumer inflation, a “demand-pull” inflation. But what we are experiencing is a supply-side inflation caused by the Covid lockdowns and economic sanctions that closed businesses, disrupted supply chains, and broke business relationships while reducing energy supplies to the UK and European countries, thus forcing up costs in a globalized economy.
