Austria, Hungary Declare War on EU

Vienna and Budapest have had enough of the warmongers in Brussels

Published: November 20, 2024, 11:49 am

After the recent meeting of leading liberal politicians and the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Vienna, the wording of the so-called “Vienna Declaration” signed by Orbán and FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl has now been made public. It is quite something and can be interpreted as a barely veiled declaration of war on the EU in its current form.

Hungary and Austria are therefore reaffirming “their neighbourly friendship and their historically and culturally determined unwavering bond”. They are also united in their common desire to “prosperously develop Europe’s diversity” as an “axis of positive reform”.

An important step in this is the recently forged party alliance at European level, which sees itself as responsible for “giving power back to the people and their elected representatives in the parliaments of the member states”. It is important to “value and preserve the diversity of peoples, cultures, mentalities and ways of life”.

Therefore – according to the explosive conclusion – Brussels should in future “lose political importance, and direct democracy and parliamentarism in the home countries should be strengthened”.

Austria’s FPÖ and Hungary’s Fidesz see the greatest challenges in the “organized abuse of asylum law” and in illegal migration, but also in the gender confusion promoted by the European elites; they are strictly opposed to “the fact that there should be an absurd number of other genders besides women and men and that children could lose their gender identity at a very young age through left-wing educational experiments.”

In terms of foreign policy, the EU should instead be committed to finally living up to its original concept of a “peace union” and working hard to end armed conflicts. Together, they reaffirm the goal of “further consolidating and strengthening our successful alliance internally so that it can grow and gain strength externally.”

Overzealous observers hastened to point out that the declaration was “null and void” because the Austrian FPÖ leader Kickl could not speak for Austria. This does little to change the political weight of the message – after all, the Freedom Party has been the strongest political force in the Alpine republic since the most recent parliamentary elections at the end of September.

Hungary condemns Biden’s missile escalation against Russia

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó meanwhile condemned the concession by the Biden administration to Kiev that it could attack targets deep inside Russia with missiles, because this would raise the risk of World War III.

“The EU leadership continues to ignore the new realities that Donald Trump’s election victory in the USA has brought with it.” This was Péter Szijjártó’s assessment of the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday.

Instead of facing the new reality, the “warmongering elite” is making a last desperate attempt to go against the will of the people. The Hungarian chief diplomat recalled that this was the first meeting at foreign minister level since the election result across the pond, so unfavorable for the Brussels political elite.

“The war-fanatic mainstream still does not want to accept that the game is over.” The new US president wants peace in Ukraine, which is suffering from increasingly intense attacks by the Russians, which, together with the approaching winter, is exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

“Under such circumstances, everyone should actually realize that the war should end sooner rather than later. Every new day only brings more suffering and sacrifice, not to mention the risk of escalation.” Unfortunately, in the bubble of the EU headquarters, no one wants to see Donald Trump’s victory as an opportunity to correct the wrong decisions made so far.

    Danger of World War III

Szijjártó condemned the concession (by the resigning Biden administration) to Kiev that it could attack targets deep inside Russia with missiles, because this would raise the danger of World War III. The idea that Ukraine’s neighbors, in this case NATO and EU member states, should shoot down Russian missiles and drones in the air is similarly absurd.

At the same time, the fifteenth package of sanctions is being prepared, which is also expected to affect the energy sector. Among the particularly absurd proposals, the Foreign Minister listed ideas from colleagues to impose sanctions on athletes, clubs, church leaders and UN representatives.

“To be clear: Hungary will continue to not agree to any sanctions that are directed against Hungary’s interests, its national security or its energy security.”

Finally, Szijjártó noted that Hungary was also Ukraine’s largest electricity supplier in October: “So much for who plays what role in ensuring the security of energy supplies in the region.”

    The inflation hoax

Yes, prices are rising, but not for the reasons the Federal Reserve says. When I say inflation is a hoax, I mean the purported cause is a hoax. The Fed is fighting a consumer inflation, a “demand-pull” inflation. But what we are experiencing is a supply-side inflation caused by the Covid lockdowns and economic sanctions that closed businesses, disrupted supply chains, and broke business relationships while reducing energy supplies to the UK and European countries, thus forcing up costs in a globalized economy.
