But it turns out that the suspect had acted against Christians and does not suffer from mental problems.
Hamidullah H. later confessed to having attacked and killed the woman “out of frustration over his impending expulsion”. But the children of the victim and her sister suspect Christian hatred as the real motive. The Afghan woman converted to Christianity eight years ago.
With a long kitchen knife the culprit had stabbed the mother of two in front of a grocery store in Prien am Chiemsee several times. The autopsy revealed that the victim suffered multiple punctures and cuts that led to her death on that same Saturday night.
In the case of Farima S. (38), stabbed four times at the end of April, the trial against the alleged perpetrator Hamidullah M. will begin on January 23, 2018. “The indictment is based on murder and particular severity of guilt,” said prosecutor Oliver Mössner. “Altogether four trial days before the jury court chamber of the district court Traunstein are scheduled.”
The prosecutor dismissed Hamidullah M’s stay in a psychiatric institution over his alleged mental problems. “There is no reason to do that,” said the prosecutor. “The man is fully guilty, in custody.”
Extensive criminal investigations by Kripo Rosenheim are still being conducted in the area around the victim and also the perpetrator, a difficult and very expensive process due to language barriers. In the first interviews, the suspect conceded the offense, but so far made no statement about his motive. But the investigators noticed that he knew the victim, although a relationship beyond that, however, apparently did not exist.
The murder victim, an Afghan citizen, who had been in Germany since 2011, lived in her own apartment in Prien am Chiemsee. The 29-year-old suspect, who has been staying in the country since 2013, was accommodated in a migrant shared accommodation centre.
The investigation into a possible religious motive continues. The two 5- and 11-year-old children of the victim have been severely traumatized by the brutal murder.
