As can be seen from a response from the Federal Government to a request by AFD Member Martin Hess, the Criminal Investigation Service recorded nationwide in the third quarter of 2019 so far 52 attacks on AfD party bureaus or party institutions.

Of these alone accounted for 26 attacks on the AfD. The Left Party and the SPD were each affected seven times, the Greens five and the CDU four times. On FDP facilities an attack was recorded.

Also in attacks on representatives and members of political parties, the AfD by a large margin in first place.

Of the registered number of offenses, some 278, there were 127 on the party, of which 113 offenses had been assigned to politically left-wing perpetrators. During the same period, the CDU had 72 attacks on party representatives, followed by the SPD (36) and the Greens (28). The Left Party experienced it 15 times, FDP and CSU eight an two times respectively.

A similar picture emerged in the destruction or damage of election posters. Some 905 such offenses were counted by the authorities, of which 460 posters of the AfD. The CDU had 165 posters, the Left Party 117 and the SPD 111 damaged or destroyed. The FDP reported 72 and the Greens 71 damaged election posters. However, according to the Federal Government there are no indications that “the attacks are a systemic form of intimidation or threat” to the AfD

For Hess, on the other hand, the numbers once again show that the AfD is still the main victim of political violence. He himself had an attack on his constituency office, reported the former Chief Inspector to Berlin weekly, the Junge Freiheit.

“Some 89 percent of left-wing extremist motivated attacks on party members are directed against the AfD. That left-wing violence is played down by our political competitors is therefore understandable, but not excusable,” Hess said. Extremism must be consistently eradicated, no matter from which direction it comes, demanded the AFD MEP.

The rebel group is made up of radical Islamists who want to introduce an Islamic state under Sharia law and have previously committed repeated war crimes. Intelligence sources now warn of the consequences of training jihadists to use an advanced tank, which is the main weapon in several European armies.
