France’s Macron embraces broken English, the globalist tongue
France’s Emmanuel Macron, a presidential candidate, has dumped the language of Molière for broken English, the globalist tongue.

Macron addressed a conference on the European Union in his pidgin English, not French, a rare thing for French politicians to do.
While Macron’s English is passable in writing, his English pronunciation is terrible. He pronounces “growth” and “gross” in the same way, making it almost impossible to understand what he he is saying.
Pidgins usually have low prestige with respect to other languages.
The French investment banker turned economy minister and now presidential hopeful, gave a laboured atlanticist speech on Franco-German relations at the Humboldt University in Berlin on Tuesday.
He also tweeted from the conference in English. His efforts to be fashionably trendy were less appreciated by French politicians, Politico reported.
The leader of France’s anti-EU National Front, Marine Le Pen, remarked [see original tweet below in French]: “Presidential candidate Macron goes to Berlin to give a conference in English … poor France!”

Florian Philippot, Le Pen’s advisor, noted: “It’s not just that he doesn’t respect our language, he doesn’t believe in France”.
Even when French politicians travel abroad, they speak their own language. Many have a good grasp of English but take pride in preserving their own language.
Globalist Macron, who quit President François Hollande’s Socialist government last year to run as an independent in the next presidential election, also defended the EU and hailed German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s policies on open borders and migrants.
Former French president Jacques Chirac, stormed out of an EU summit in 2006 in protest at a French delegate addressing the audience in English.
