They reportedly were charged with “the organisation and holding of public events without prior written notice”.
They had been sentenced to 15 days’ detention after members of the group dressed as police officers, ran onto the pitch at Luzhniki Stadium during the second half of the final between France and Croatia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and other high-ranking officials from around the world had been watching the game.
The judge banned the four members — Veronika Nikulshina, Olga Pakhtusova, Olga Kurachyova and Pyotr Verzilov, the only male — from attending sports events for three years, ABC news reported. According to the group, they could face further fines or 10 more days in prison.
Their fresh re-arrest clearly surprised the members of the group as they walked out of the correctional facility. The group’s official Twitter account tweeted: “olya’s face when cops are saying her that she’s detained AGAIN.”
The group stormed the pitch wearing police-style outfits as a protest against Russia’s imprisonment of Ukrainian citizen Oleg Sentsov. Sensov is a vocal opponent of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. He was arrested in Crimea and convicted to 20 years in jail by Russian court on charges of plotting terrorism acts.
The band is due to tour the UK in August.
