In the Dutch “EU Model Community” that is linked to the German town of Herzogenrath, a 42-year-old Dutch woman was stabbed on the street by a migrant in broad daylight. The police were able to arrest the 52-year-old murderer after they had received clues to his whereabouts from people in Heerlen, as reported by the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

According to the wording, the woman was “killed” by a perpetrator, but no details about the beheading were included in the mainstream report.

The “stab attack in the neck” took place at 1:15 pm on the Erensteinerstraat in Kerkrade. The woman died instantly of her injuries, eyewitnesses of the murder said.

They were so shocked by the violent killing that they had to be taken in for pastoral care. The Dutch police immediately started a search for the suspect – a “man”. The officials used dogs and also informed their German colleagues across the border in Herzogenrath.

At around 4 pm, the suspect was finally arrested following a hint from the public. The Dutch TV station Hart van Nederland reported that the offender was a 52-year-old man, the partner of the 42-year-old victim.

According to the NL Times, the woman had already gone to the police several times to complain about her violence-prone companion and had even obtained an restraining order, which, however, had not helped.

The online platform 1Limburg reported that the perpetrator had been hospitalized because of “unspecified injuries”.

The police confirmed the ages of the persons involved and stated that both persons lived in Kerkrade and were “acquaintances”. More detailed information on the relationship of the two and the motive were not included in the statement, and neither was the origin of the perpetrator.

According to local sources, the victim was a popular and caring citizen in the area, Her murderer had “African roots”. The information was later confirmed by Dutch daily Dagelijkse Standaard.

The rest of the Dutch mainstream press however covered up the circumstances and ethnic origin of the perpetrator.

Kerkrade with 45 000 inhabitants is located on the Dutch border and together with the German city of Herzogenrath “the European model municipality” and large amounts of tax and subsidies are given to the bordering towns.

Herzogenrath is part of the city region Aachen, while Kerkrade is part of the Southern Limburg Zweckverband “Parkstadt Limburg”, both cities are located in the Euregio Maas-Rhein.

It is worth noting that there is the Neustraße or Nieuwstraat, on one side on Dutch and on the other side in German territory. The traffic signs are Dutch, because at the time they were cheaper than German, but the bus shelters on the Dutch side German, as a bus line operated by the Aachen ASEAG.

At the end of this street, the Eurode Business Center, located in the middle of the German-Dutch “state border”, was opened, in which a “bilateral police station” was also set up. The bilateral police is currently busy looking into the murder they said in a statement.
