Internal White House document warns daily fatalities could number 3000
The White House expects some 200 000 daily Covid-19 cases by June as US federal states mull reopening their economies.
WashingtonAccording to an internal White House document obtained by The New York Times,The daily death toll will number around 3 000 on June 1.
The projections of the rising number of cases, is based on data assembled by the Federal Emergency Management Agency – it is up from the 25 000 current cases per day.
“There remains a large number of counties whose burden continues to grow,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned.
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington estimated that there will be around 135 000 deaths at the start of August — more than double what was forecast on April 17.
The White House has meanwhile banned Coronavirus task force officials from testifying to Congress without its approval.
