Sweden: Boy shot in the chest by two immigrants
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest with a shotgun by two immigrants in a nature area on the outskirts of Borås.

Before that, he was forced to take off his clothes and tried to escape by jumping into the water. Two teenagers of the same age from the Middle East are now in custody for attempted murder.
It was at 12.30 on Friday 9 October that the police were alerted to the residential area Frufällan where a 16-year-old boy sought help from residents in the area after being shot in the chest. Before the shooting, he is said to have been forced to undress and then tried to escape by jumping into Öresjö’s water, according to information to Aftonbladet.
The 16-year-old was seriously injured and has undergone surgery, according to regional daily Borås Tidning (BT). Deputy Chief Prosecutor Ove Jäverfelt told the newspaper that he has done well under the circumstances. “He has had unparalleled luck, in several ways,” says Jäverfelt.
The place where the 16-year-old is said to have been shot is Vikåsaudden outside the residential area. Why he was humiliated and shot at the time of writing has not been explained.
The police refused to call out the suspects, describing them as “dark-haired” only.
After several days of an intense search for the perpetrators, two suspects were arrested on Tuesday 13 October. They are believed to have had the help of others to hide, leading to speculation about clan structures and organized crime. In addition to the two arrested, a person has been arrested on suspicion of protecting a criminal.
According to unconfirmed information, the shot 16-year-old is an ethnic Swede.
According to the population register, the suspected perpetrators are the same age as their victim and must have attended the same school. They were both born in Sweden and have Swedish citizenship, but their parents come from Iran and Iraq and Syria, respectively.
The Iranian has previously been convicted of drug offenses. He has also been convicted of assault after hitting a Swedish student with a belt in a locker room at the school in May this year.
The Iranian denies any wrongdoing. His defender, lawyer Johan Niklasson, wants him released. “He is 16 years old and feels bad,” the lawyer told Swedish outlet BT.
Both suspects are in custody. Charges must be brought no later than 28 October.
