Trump draws large numbers of non-white voters
A significant percentage of non-whites backed Donald Trump, the highest percentage for a GOP presidential candidate since 1960.

The New York Post reported that nationwide Republicans drew unprecedented numbers of black and Hispanic voters, with preliminary results indicating that 26 percent of Trump’s voting share came from nonwhites.
Virtually every racial minority voted for Trump in greater numbers this year than in 2016. Among Blacks and Hispanics, this percentage grew among both men and women. Hispanic men were however more likely to vote for Trump than Hispanic women.
The Black vote generally overwhelmingly goes to Democratic candidates with black women reliably more Democratic than black men. This year, notably, Donald Trump doubled his support among black voters, winning an historical 8 percent of Black women’s votes.
“In 2008, 5 percent of Black men voted for John McCain; in 2012, 11 percent voted for Mitt Romney; in 2016, 13 percent voted for Trump; and, this year 18 percent voted for Trump,” The New York Times reported.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of white men voted for Trump, as did a majority of white women. In 2016, exit polls also showed that a majority of white women had voted for the Republican candidate.
