Dutch journalist in Ukraine: ‘People are happy that the Russians are here’

Freelance Dutch journalist Sonja van den Ende spent the past few days on the road with the Russian army in southern Ukraine. The trip led, among other places, to Melitopol. “The conflict is portrayed in the West as a war of annihilation, which is not true,” Van den Ende writes in an article on her website.

Published: March 18, 2022, 4:37 pm

    Melitopol

It is not a war of extermination, but an operation to – as President Putin said – eliminate the neo-Nazis and their ideology,” she added. The journalist spoke to many local residents and they almost all said the same thing: it’s all about this Nazi ideology with which they want to turn Ukraine into a fascist state and get support from Western countries for this.

She heard from many people that the Azov Battalion in Mariupol has caused a lot of damage and was holding people hostage in their homes. The theatre, which according to the media was razed to the ground by Russian air raids, is a false flag operation, said Van den Ende.

“The number of dead and injured cannot be verified, according to the NOS. Because it’s not true,” she emphasized.

The journalist spoke on Thursday in the city of Melitopol with a woman who told how she lost her job and fell into poverty after the coup in 2014. When the Russian army moved through the city this month, humanitarian aid finally arrived, in the form of food and medicine.

The Russians have also restored energy and drinking water supplies, the woman told Van den Ende, since the power had been cut off. The woman said NATO cannot be trusted and referred to the bombings in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia.

The Azov Battalion and other neo-Nazi groups have also wreaked havoc in Melitopol, the journalist said. They were driven out by the Russians. The Ukrainian army dropped a bomb on civilian buildings on February 28. Cars and houses were destroyed and people injured.

The media also allege that the Russians deliberately damaged the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. Nothing could be further from the truth, said Van den Ende. Residents of Melitopol told her that the nuclear power plant was not damaged. The Russians did not hurt the civilians and did not damage civilian buildings.

Van den Ende spoke to many civilians in Genischeck, who said that the Russians did not cause any damage and did not kill or injure anyone. “People are happy that the Russians are here.”

    1. Wow, RU is actually liberating Ukrainians. Remember when the US “liberated” Iraq? Funny, the two don’t seem the same.

    2. Your right, in Iraq people loved Saddam for the most part, and the Iraqi people had the highest standard of living in the Arab world, now their country has been mostly destroyed by the invasion forces. In Ukraine, on the other hand, the country was has been devastated by corruption and violence against the Ukrainian people BY THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT the last 8 years, since the current sick “jewish” (supposedly, but a nazi jew if so) government was forced on them, but now Russia is trying to free them from that criminal government, and install the government that was previously elected by them, but overthrown by outside forces (using Soros-Rothschild money as usual). Two very different situations my friend – do some research before posting ignorant comments next time – eh?

    3. I don’t really buy this story, personally. It sounds like they’re interviewing either a staunch Russian nationalist, or, more likely a Jewish type of person. We can’t forget that Russia has invaded Ukraine in the past. They also invaded Georgia. and, just last month, Putin practically threatened to invade Finland.

So, although I can understand repelling the expansion of NATO, the other reasoning doesn’t figure. The people who control Ukraine are Global Elitists and Israelis.

As for AZOV? I don’t blame them for being hostile against invading armies. My only problem is that they’re defending Globalism which aims to erase Europeans anyhow.

    5. who’s invading who ? Also, you’re using a tactic often echoed in the USA. I must be a Nazi, or a Nazi supporter. Therefore, I deserve to get punched.

Regarding AZOV, you can’t blame them for defending their country. They were already invaded by Russia in 2014. Plus, Georgia was also invaded by Russia. And, a decade earlier, there was a bloodgy war between Russia and Chechnya.

SO, although I’ve always been opposed to expanding NATO, let’s not forget the whole story.

    7. There are no “Nazis” in Ukraine. Nazis opposed usury and globalism, while seeing Jews as a bad influence on their culture. These so-called (trained in Israel) “Nazis” supported the coup that led to Ukraine becoming a captive of the International banking Cartel, buying into the globo-homo agenda, and supporting Jewish oligarchs.

    8. Wall Street financed Hitler just as Wall Street financed the Bolshevik Revolution according to a very detailed British analysis by Anthony Sutton. Globohomo Zelensky used Martial Law powers last week to ban 11 political parties. All in the name of “democracy”. Side note: Azov Neo Nazi and Svoboda, still acceptable parties.

Comment by Rentia Diedericks on March 21, 2022 at 10:31 am

    9. Yes, the narrative was that Wall Street funded Hitler. There is no question that some German industrialists funded Hitler early on, and some US industrialists and banks saw opportunities in Germany during the 1930s. The problem I have with Sutton, is that the theory makes no sense. Before the rise of the political rise of the NSDAP, the KDP (communist) was a more prominent. Why would the bankers back the NSDAP when backing the KDP would have got them reporting to London and New York through Moscow? Take a look at the elections of the era https://www.mrbuddhistory.com/uploads/1/4/9/6/14967012/election_results.pdf There was also a 1926 referendum where the majority voted to seize property without compensation, a very communist idea.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1926_German_referendum
Sutton also refers to Marx as a socialist. He wasn’t. His real socialist contemporaries like Proudhon and Bakunin detested him and his twisting of their movement into state control, rather than eliminating the state. National Socialism, like fascism was opposed to usury. The German central bank had been privatized as a condition of Versailles. The private usurious central bank caused the collapse of the German economy, and the NSDAP knew it. If the banks funded Hitler, why did they lead the economic boycott? If the banks funded Hitler, why would Hitler avoid the banks by trading commodity for commodity, thereby preventing the Bank of International Settlements and the Bank of England (reserve currency) their cut? All wars are banker wars. WWII was a war against those who opposed the banks.

Absolute bullshit. Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk each held a referendum to leave Ukraine after the US coup. The Russian navy has been in Crimea for 200 years.

Georgia was also invaded by Russia.

LOL, Yes they were. After Georgia attacked South Ossetia, killing Russian peacekeeping forces Russia invaded, stripped the military of weapons, then left.

there was a bloodgy war between Russia and Chechnya.

No, there was a bloody war between Russia and extremist Chechnyan separatists.

    12. I’ve been to Russia. It’s a very dishonest country. Nothing personal. But, they want to return to their Soviet Union borders. and now, they’re butt-buddies with the Chechnyans. Russia needs to find a peace agreement which is fair for both parties.

….De-Nazify. Send them here to Canada. Fair treatment for all. But, not a full annexation.

Comment by oh day glory on March 21, 2022 at 4:52 am

    13. Well, I haven’t been to Russia, but I met Russians, Czechs, Slovaks, and East Germans at university 50 years ago. My friend’s son played hockey there about 15 years ago. I don’t know what you mean by “dishonest”. If by dishonest, you mean corruption, then yes, they are dishonest – just as every other country on the planet. If by dishonest, you mean not living up to commitments and international law, then they pale in comparison to the USA, which has never lived up to a treaty or agreement it has signed since its inception. Russia doesn’t need to find anything. The Minsk Agreements were fair to both parties, but the most corrupt country in Europe, refused to begin even discussing them, while at the same time was procuring US weapons to kill, what it claims to be, its own citizens. While the world went hysterical with the lie that “Saddam killed his own people”, there is a blackout on Poroshenko and Zelensky killing their own people.

Do you really think Russia wants all of Ukraine? If you do, you haven’t been paying attention. The psychopathic owners of the USA won’t stop until the robber baron days of Yeltsin are re-instated.

    18. Ukrainians are fighting a war of annihilation against their own people. Refugee civilians from Mariupol had to escape from Ukis. Press: “Why didn’t the Ukrainian army help you?” Answer: “The Ukrainian army shot at us – straight at the house.” P: “Are you happy to be out there?” A: “Yes, of course, we thank you [Russians] for that, huge thanks. Since February 26th we were sitting in the basement (somewhat incomprehensible, – the little girl’s statement was incomprehensible), there were 300 people in the basement, that was only in one house.” P: “Why didn’t you leave earlier?” A: “Because no one let us go from there.” Another refugee: “They didn’t give us green corridors. Ukraine didn’t allow us to leave the city. The Ukrainian military came and said do not leave the city under any circumstances, even if the Russian Federation opens a green corridor for you. They wanted to keep using us as human shields.” That’s a Nazi war crime.

    27. While I like Stone’s work his leaving out the starvation deaths of 10 million by Stalin & Lysenko is very poor on his part. That is the defining moment from where their attitudes towards Russia were made. I can understand “my enemy’s enemy is my friend” in WW2 but fascism is a dead philosophy. They are just goons serving the oligarchs who serve themselves and their foreign owners.

If the global West meant well for Ukraine, they wouldn’t be sending in all their tech and mercenaries. Doing this will only prolong the conflict.
