French former Marine returns from Ukraine shocked
French ex-soldier Adrien Bocquet spent three weeks in Ukraine and what he saw there will be etched on his mind forever, he said. Once back home he was dismayed to learn that the media keep inviting "experts" who have not been to Ukraine and have no idea what is going on there.

Speaking to French radio station Sud Radio, Adrien Bocquet said he had witnessed “a lot of war crimes“. All those war crimes were committed by Ukrainian soldiers and not by Russian soldiers, he pointed out. Bocquet is therefore enormously alarmed that Europe is sending weapons to Ukrainian neo-Nazis. They wear all kinds of Nazi symbols on their uniforms. They do not hide these symbols. What is more, they boast about them, he said.
“I worked with them and gave them medicine. Do you know what they said? That they would skin Jews or blacks if they had the chance.” This certainly does not align with the mainstream narrative of saving “democracy” and “our values” in Ukraine.
“People can say whatever they want. I was there. I saw what happened there,” emphasised Bocquet, who says he has made many dozens of videos of war crimes. He saw in a barn Russian prisoners of war who had been beaten and tied up. “Fighters from the Azov battalion asked them who the officers were. Each Russian soldier was shot in the knees with a Kalashnikov. I have videos that prove it, otherwise I would not dare to say such a thing.”
Officers were immediately shot in the head. “That’s how it goes, at least in the Azov battalion,” the French ex-marine said.
He went on to say that he had seen an American cameraman blatantly staging footage and the Ukrainian army hiding ammunition in homes at night without informing civilians.

Both sides are lying. No real “Nazi” would say “they would skin Jews or blacks if they had the chance.” There is no context to the “Nazi symbols on their uniforms”. The rules of war (until the Stalinist show trials at Nuremberg) required combatants to be in uniform. Combatants not in uniform were spies, and those aiding and abetting the spies were also spies. Spies could be summarily executed. Partisans and/or underground movements were spies under the rules of war. There were more than 500,000 volunteers from across Europe and North Africa joining the war against communism. They could not be part of the German Army. The Waffen SS was the way for these volunteers to enter combat. There were dozens of Waffen SS units and battalions that were “national” in origin, some countries, like Belgium, had more than one. There was no blood test or exam to determine whether these people fit NSDAP (not for export) ideology. The only requirement was for them to fight communism. They were provided uniforms and badges to make them uniformed combatants as was required.
The Ukrainian battalion using the symbol in question, were primarily Galicians, who, prior to the Treaty of Versailles, were a troublesome part of the Austrian Empire. These people, who didn’t like Poles, Germans, Czechs, Hungarians, or Germans had lived through a decade of “Russian” communists starving millions of their family friends and neighbours to death. It is important to note that the Russian Donbas was attached to Ukraine by Lenin. When Germany invaded, why wouldn’t they be collaborating to remove the people who murdered millions of them? In my working life I was required to “collaborate” with other organizations on shared interests. Sometimes those organizations normally would be competitors. The collaboration does not mean philosophical alignment outside of that specific interest.

They do not have a good record for treating opposition fighters well…..just ask the Russians. I do not recall Ukraine threatening to invade Russia. Russia has made the decision to invade another country with full force, frankly if I were a Ukraine citizen I would not want to just run them out, I would want to sting them so bad they would never want to try that again. This Frenchman would most likley have a different view had he been fighting Russian Chechen fighters in France. If Russian troops are not happy with the siuation, the border is not far away, they can end this in a day or two. Otherwise if you chose to stay in my country as an invading force….you get what you get.

Had Russia not invaded and occupied Crimea years ago and fomented unrest in the east by supporting the “breakaway” provinces then maybe there would have been no atrocities by anyone. It wanted independence and was threatened by the Ukrainian side- Russia sent troops to protect the population against indiscriminate shelling – as has happened in the Donbas region.
