Swiss reject ‘non-binary’ gender dictates
The Swiss have remained down to earth – at least as far as gender issues that is rampant in the US and Europe are concerned.

The Confederates will continue to only have “man” and “woman” in official documents in the future. At the last Federal Council meeting of the year, the government in Bern passed a report on the “Introduction of a third gender”, in which it rejected gender ideology.
The Federal Council had come to the conclusion that the social prerequisites for an official third gender were not given. The “binary” gender model is therefore still firmly anchored in Switzerland. In the debate, many parliamentarians referred to the “National Ethics Committee”. This body had already come to the same conclusion in a report in 2020.
In addition to “female” and “male”, there should be no “diverse” or “non-binary” in passports, other official documents and in the population registers for the time being.
