According to Eduard Basurin, the American officers were accompanied by representatives of the Ukrainian General Staff.
“At the moment, brigades of the Armed Forces, which are part of the ‘Donetsk’ operational-tactical group, are being tested,” Basurin said.
In October last year, the representative of the European Command, (EUCOM, USCOM) US Armed Forces, said that the Pentagon plans sending four more battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The US Army said that more than 200 US soldiers had already arrived at the International Peacekeeping Center near Yavorov to train militia fighters.
The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko signed a law on 29 January allowing foreign military forces on the territory of Ukraine, thereby legalizing the presence of the US military in his country.
Already on 26 January, Canada sent an additional 50 military instructors to Ukraine and in August last year, the US began construction of a naval base in Ochakov.
The US has meanwhile illegally blocked a money transfer of the Russian Defense Ministry, which was intended to pay for fuel of Russian aircraft fighting in Syria.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said the transfer was for five million dollars.
She explained that this is an international transfer, which the Russian Defense Ministry made in 2017. but the US side has frozen the money.
“It’s more than five million US dollars. So far, these funds, have not been returned,” Zakharova said at a media briefing.
Zakharova also recalled the US blocking the 2017 transfer of $200 000 from Russia to the account of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The money was Russia’s contribution to the research program for the treatment of cancer.
