The undocumented invaded and occupied terminal 2F of Charles-de-Gaulle airport to denounce “the collaboration of Air France” in the evictions of people in an irregular situation, reported Le Point citing a judicial source.
According to the two collectives at the origin of this operation, the “Black Vests” and La Chapelle debout! Air France was requested to “stop all financial, material, logistical or political participation” in returning illegal migrants.
Their action started around 14 hours and ended approximately two hours later, La Chapelle was quoted as saying.
A delegation of the airline received four representatives of the “Black Vests” on Sunday, late in the afternoon to try and unblock the airport.
The company has pledged to “report the grievances to the management,” said a member of La Chapelle.
Le Point contacted Air France, but for their part, they declined to comment, referring to the police prefecture for evictions.
One of the undocumented migrants mobilized for the operation, Diakiate, promised journalists: “Today we have targeted Air France and other actions will follow”.
In the midst of controversy over the privatization of the Aéroports de Paris company, a ranking conducted by AirHelp – an expert in terms of service to air passengers – revealed that French airports and especially those in Paris were in a sad state, reported Le Figaro.
Taking into account the punctuality of the flights, the quality of the service, food and shopping, Orly was ranked number 126 and Roissy 121 out of a total of 132 airports. The “best” French airport in Bordeaux ranked only number 89.
To complete this sad report, one Air France flight out of two was late last year, according to AirHelp, making the tricolor company number 45 in the world in terms of punctuality.
At the top of the list, three airports shared the podium of the best airport in the world. Those of Doha, Tokyo and Athens. They are ahead of Curitiba in Brazil, Gdansk in Poland and Moscow and Singapore.
