According to a Litomerice daily, it was an African who was released from prison in Dresden shortly before and deported from Germany.
“I can only confirm that the Litomerice police are dealing with a violent crime that happened on Tuesday. At the moment, we have one person arrested who will soon be charged and will be prosecuted and a petition for detention will be filed,” spokeswoman for Litomerice police, Petra Trypes, told iDNES.cz.
Litomerice District Attorney Kateřina Doušová stated that the offender was a foreign national.
“It is most likely an African. So far, I cannot confirm or exclude information on whether a person has the status of a migrant, considering the short time since his / her detention,” said Doušová. She added that the man was detained shortly after the crime was committed.
“We reserved the right to information because we consider the case to be very sensitive, with regard to the age of the victim. It is a minor, a very vulnerable victim,” Doušová said.
The public prosecutor’s office has not yet informed whether the suspected man was expelled from Germany. “We do not have a document proving this fact,” Doušová said.
“We also found out about the perpetrator in cooperation with the police and the law enforcement authorities in Germany,” the prosecutor said, adding that the offender had no identity documents with him. “As far as his personal data and identification are concerned, we do not have more detailed information yet,” she added.
Criminal proceedings were underway. “Within 48 hours, we have to decide whether to file a proposal with the District Court to take the perpetrator into custody. At this point we expect input from the police,” Doušová added.
The mayor of Terezin, the town from which the raped girl came, would not provide further details. “Of course, I know more details, but I cannot diclose them due to the ongoing investigation,” Rene Tomasek said.
He would only confirm that the state police and not the city’s Terezin force were involved in the case.
Also, the nearest hospital in Litomerice, which is only a few kilometers from the crime scene, refused to say anything about the case.
“Since this is a minor, we will not comment on it. I cannot confirm or deny that a young girl was raped. I can say nothing at all,” said Naděžda Křečková, a spokeswoman for the Litomerice hospital, explaining that she consulted both the doctor and the hospital lawyer before speaking to the press.
