According to the Italian daily La Repubblica, an investigation has been opened.
Politics these days often unleash passions to the point of indecency. The latest message from an Italian journalist is no exception. On public radio Radiotelevisione Italiana SpA (RAI), Fabio Sanfilippo called on the head of the League, Matteo Salvini, to commit suicide, in a Facebook post published on Friday and noticed by the daily La Repubblica.
“You should hang yourself. You are going to lose 20 to 25 percent of the voting intentions, do you know? And what will you do? You have no work, you do not know how to do anything, you do not have the seat of a deputy, you have lost the post of minister. It is true, you are in Parliament, but without the life that you had the habit of leading, within six months you will shoot yourself, dear enemy.”
Since the publication in La Reppublica, the message in question has been deleted. This did not prevent the opening of an investigation into the media concerned, the RAI. On the side of the opposition, the journalist’s words were also little appreciated.
MP Michele Anzaldi, a member of the Democratic Party (PD, center-left), the main opponent of Matteo Salvini, responded: “These attacks against Salvini are serious and unacceptable.”
Matteo Renzi, former head of the Italian government, also commented: “I fought like a lion against Matteo Salvini. And all together we sent him home. But to see a journalist from RAI who talks about Salvini’s suicide and his jokes about his daughter is unworthy of public service. Solidarity with Salvini”.
The journalist had concluded his post with insalubrious comments: “I am sorry for your daughter, but she will have time to recover, it is enough that you are replaced by competent people”.
On Saturday, September 7, in the face of controversy, the person was keen to defend himself by stating that this reference to suicide “is not an invitation to shoot him, but the statement that he was eliminated politically”.
In an exclusive interview, published by Il Giornale on newsstands, Silvio Berlusconi has meanwhile denied any support for the new Giallorossi government: “Forza Italia was born to fight the left, but in Parliament and not in the streets”.
He accused the Five-Star Movement and the Democratic Party of having “joined welfare and statism to avoid the vote”.
According to Berlusconi it is “ungenerous to blame the League”, for this but about Matteo Salvini he said: “I don’t understand him anymore”. And he warned him: “The sovereign monochrome will never win.”
GRAZIE!
Serata emozionante a #Domodossola, alla faccia di chi ci vuole male.
Con il vostro affetto e i vostri sorrisi io vado avanti senza fermarmi e non mollo, MAI!

Salvini has been speaking to thousands of disgruntled followers since his ousting. He has also responded to Roger Waters after the singer-songwriter’s attack, telling him to house migrants at his own expense.
The former Minister of the Interior replied to the historic Pink Floyd member: “Dear Roger, I love your music! Do you like me? Amen. Be aware, however, that nobody is preventing you from hosting thousands of immigrants at your expense. We Italians have already received and paid enough.”
The British musician Waters had called for end of “neo-fascist nationalism” on the sidelines of the presentation of a documentary film in Venice. “If we don’t get together and resist this neo-fascism there will be nothing left for the new generations,” the British musician said.
“I confess to know little about the new coalition. I know something about Salvini: thank God he’s gone,” Waters said. Waters told Italians: ” Migrants are not stealing your pizza, your work or your woman. They do it because they are desperate, dis-ra-pe-ti. Save them!”.
