US race riot symbol George Floyd died from a heart attack while being arrested, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. He had traces of the deadly opioid fentanyl in his system according to a toxicology report.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner released its toxicology findings stating that Floyd experienced “a cardiopulmonary arrest while being restrained by law enforcement”.
Floyd had suffered a heart attack while the officers were arresting him, and that had complicated their efforts to subdue him. The report added that the suspect had fentanyl in his system, and they also found signs of recent methamphetamine use. The report classified his manner of death as a murder.
Fentanyl is one of the deadliest drugs in the US that killed more than 32 000 Americans just last year.
Floyd’s family lawyer, Benjamin Crump meanwhile announced an “independent autopsy” by Dr. Michael Baden. (Baden happens to be the same person who performed Jeffrey Epstein’s autopsy).
Baden stated his “opinion” from watching the videos about Floyd’s arrest and based simply on that, surmised that the suspect’s cause of death was “asphyxia due to compression of the neck”. The mainstream media however ignored the fact that it was merely Baden’s “opinion” and reported his opinion as a fact.
Thus, ABC News on Monday headlined the news as: “Independent autopsy finds George Floyd died of homicide by asphyxia”. In the article the writer never clarified that it was only Baden’s “opinion.”
Floyd’s family has described him as a “gentle giant,” but he was charged with armed robbery in 2007 in Houston, Texas, for breaking into a woman’s home and holding a gun to her stomach.
Some “fact-checking” outlets like Snopes are described Floyd as a “devout Christian”. However, internet sleuths discovered that he worked as a porn star.
In a fourth straight night of violence and looting by #BlackLivesMatter supporters in Los Angeles and New York City, businesses on 5th and Madison avenues were seen hastily shuttering store fronts to prevent looting on Monday night.
St. Louis was one of the dozens of other cities across the US facing violence. The wave of protests has also spilled over US borders.
