In the wake of the death of a black career criminal, Walter Wallace, fresh BLM riots and looting erupted in the the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wallace was shot by police when he charged the officers armed with a knife.

For the third night in a row, hundreds of black BLM supporters looted stores and fought street battles with police in the city. According to the police, a mob of around 1000 people at times rioted in the city, the AFP news agency reported. The security forces used pepper spray and batons against the crowd.

“They were specifically targeting and attacking white people tonight in Philadelphia,” one reporter, Elija Schaffer pointed out after he was assaulted by a black mob.

“It was clear, if you were white, you weren’t welcome,” Schaffer said. “That’s why Antifa had their own demonstrations in a separate part of the city.”

While Schaffer was badly beaten for having filmed the black looters, another reporter, James Klüg, was lucky to get away in time.

Videos on social media show black people robbed stores and drove off with the stolen goods in cars. In addition to supermarkets, branches of the sporting goods retail chain Foot Locker and other clothing and electronic stores were also the target of the looters.

According to a report from FOX29 News, Philadelphia police were ordered not to arrest looters by the black Deputy Police Commissioner Melvin Singleton. Singelton had taken a knee for George Floyd, the criminal whose death had sparked the first wave of BLM violence.

The death of the Wallace, who was shot by police on Monday resulted as the 27-year-old, armed with a knife, refused to put it down and instead stormed the officers. They then opened fire.

Wallace was last arrested in March after threatening to kill the mother of his children, NBC reported, citing court records. He had attacked a police car the previous year. He was involved in a robbery in 2016 and threatened to shoot his own mother three years earlier.

In a twist of irony, a Chick-fil-A fast food outlet was also looted, despite the fact that the CEO had kneeled down to a black rapper earlier this year claiming that Christians must “repent” for the “shame” of racism.
