Thunberg vehemently accused the attending politicians with harsh words at the UN climate summit in New York. She said politicians stole her dreams and childhood with “empty phrases”.

“We will watch you closely. This is all wrong. I should not be here, I should be at school on the other side of the ocean. […] How dare you ? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.”

Stressed, brimming with tears and a grim face, she continued to make a series of emotional accusatory sweeping statements, “How dare you look away, come here and say you’re doing enough?”

“People are suffering, people are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing, we are at the beginning of mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and the fairy tale of eternal economic growth. How dare you?” she continued with tears in her eyes before an audience of leaders.

The young girl was visibly distraught as one of the guests of the United Nations on Tuesday, reported Le Monde. “You are still not mature enough to tell it like it is. You are failing us. But the young people are starting to understand your betrayal,” Thunberg said.

“The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line,” she added.

From the beginning of her speech, she expressed her anger at all attending adults openly. The 16-year-old also questioned their honesty about the urgency of the situation: “You say you hear us […] but I do not want to believe it.”

A few minutes earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had repeated the readiness of countries to fight global warming. “The climate emergency is a race that we are losing, but we can win it.”

However, for Greta Thunberg, the red line has been crossed. “If you decide to let us down, I tell you, we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with that,” she said.

Minutes after her speech, Greta Thunberg launched a new offensive against several countries, but this time on the legal front, reported Le Figaro. With 16 other young people, she filed an unprecedented complaint against five polluting countries: France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil and Turkey.

These young people aged 8 to 17, from twelve countries, received support from an international law firm (Hausfeld) and the blessings of Unicef. Since 2014, an “operational protocol” authorises children to file a complaint before the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

During the day, the UN indicated that 68 countries had subscribed to the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 and also committed to reviewing their climate plan by 2020.

Emmanuel Macron was keen to respond to Greta Thunberg by inviting leaders to become more involved in climate matters. “We can not let our youth protest every Friday. We can not see our youth, in a state of suffering, sometimes of emotion as we saw earlier.”

Her apocalyptic rhetoric, fear-mongering and alarmism triggered extreme scepticism, also from US president Donald Trump who sarcastically noted that Greta was a “very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future”.

Swedish blogger Katerina Janouch remarked dryly: “Who stole Greta’s childhood? Perhaps the question should be addressed to the parents.” Others wondered why Thunberg was ignoring some of the world’s largest ecologically unfriendly nations, such as China, India and countries in Africa. China is the current largest single driver of carbon emissions in the world.

A rising numbers of children are being treated for “eco-anxiety”, experts have noted, and warned parents against “terrifying” their off-spring with notions of a climate catastrophe. “Their fear is of environmental doom – that we’re all going to die.”

The Climate Psychology Alliance (CPA) told The Daily Telegraph that some children have even been given psychiatric drugs as a result of he apocalyptic warnings by the Swedish teenage activist. A group of psychologists from the University of Bath in the UK confirmed that they have received enquiries from teachers, doctors and therapists unable to cope the “tsunami”.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel meanwhile praised Thunberg and announced further investments in climate protection in her speech. “We will make our contribution to a sustainable economy and a sustainable life,” she said on Monday.

“We’ve heard the wake up call of the youth,” she said, referring to the international “Fridays for the Future” rallies. There was no doubt that global warming is man-made and that, therefore, one must follow the advice of science, she said, adding that industrialized countries should take responsibility for changing the global economy in a climate-friendly way.

Merkel also criticised her own country, which will miss the climate goals of the Paris Agreement for 2021. “If everyone acted like Germany, emissions would double worldwide.”

For this purpose, Germany will double international climate protection expenditure from two to four billion euros. This should help developing countries, the biggest victims of climate change, she said.

Merkel presented the Federal Government’s package which envisages spending and incentives amounting to €54 billion by 2023, to be taken on an arbitrarily fixed price for CO2 emissions.

    1. Greta Thurnberg and these other callow youths are underage and we might rightly wonder how many of them have ever voted, even if some may be old enough to. And any adult with common sense (admittedly, their numbers are dwindling) knows enough not to take hysterical children seriously. But unfortunately they are useful shills for the globalist lobby and as the news media can get a good story or two about them, they will be news for a while. Then, deservedly, forgotten.
